I find it tremendously amusing that someone who IS intelligent and educated, and obviously considers himself to be informed and to give matters due consideration... thinks the best manner to address an issue that IS a matter of public debate - regardless whether it should be - is to talk about how people that hold a certain viewpoint ought to be shot in the face.
I'm letting most of this BS go, but I thought I'd address this briefly. You and I differ in this regard. I don't particularly feel the need to demonstrate "my intelligence, education, and how informed I am" with every post. Some of my posts are brief - yours are not. Sometimes I'm not informed about a subject, other times I am and just briefly express anger about the situation. For myself, I'm not always trying to take the time to impress everyone. I don't see the need.

Why do I give a **** what other people do? We are a nation of laws and should conduct ourselves accordingly. Most importantly, the US Government should not be lying to the US people. If they want to torture people - ok - lay it out for the public and determine if that is acceptable to the public.

I understand all that, and agree for the most part. That said, I don't really care about the politics of this. I don't care who's doing it, or why, or who's complaining about it, or why. ANYONE opposing the immediate cessation of these activities and/or any sort of investigation and/or prosecution, needs to be shot in the face.
You know, there's no reason that brief posts can't be well-thought-out and intelligent. The first quote was.
The second post was - to use Lenas's term from this thread - pants-on-head retarded, especially in light of the first post. Even as hyperbole it pretty much went full retard.
What's even better is then watching Stathol go out of his way to claim that mockery of this nonsense is somehow the result of "anger." Because really, when someone says "people need to be SHOT IN THE FACE!!" rarr, that's obvious hyperbole, but if someone says "Ok, tough guy, go shoot then", somehow that must be Serious Anger (tm) You know, as opposed to just pointing out the incredible irony of "We are a nation of laws, this should not be hidden from the public, but DAMN IT ANYONE OPPOSED TO MY POSITION NEEDS TO BE SHOT RARRR!!". No, it certainly couldn't be that.
I was sure this thread was going places as soon as I saw the title, but I really had no idea it would be quite
this entertaining. It's been a long time since "pure comedy gold" was heard so appropriately around here.
