How is this a series?

I see only a few alternatives for this:

1) They have episode after episode talking about a single slapping incident until the entire audience wants to slap everyone associated with the show.
2) The show devolves into one of the characters running around slapping everyone.
3) By the end of the first season, it's completely been derailed, and they are fighting terrorists or something just to keep the audience engaged. Maybe periodically slapping the terrorists.

I don't get it.

I thought it was a parody commercial the first time I saw it...

Yeah, this concept seems more appropriate for a three-part mini-series on Lifetime or the Oprah channel; not a series.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Adult dude smacks a poorly behaving little bastard for assaulting the other kids or something? And that's a *series*?

That's a one paragaph news blurb on the local station.

Quote:
A family drama that explodes from one small incident where a man slaps another couple's misbehaving child. This seemingly minor domestic dispute pulls the family apart, exposes long-held secrets, and ignites a lawsuit that challenges the core values of all who are pulled into it

Granted, I know nothing about this show, but it seems to me that the premise is flawed. Here's a guy, smacks a kid, and then there's brouhaha. Why isn't he smacking more people? Obviously, this would make the show much shorter, and perhaps less politically correct.

*smack*
"I'm so sorry, I'll go make you a sandwich."
Fade out

#2, except The Slap is a new superhero.

Would watch.

I see she had to be told twice.
