My icemaker in my fridge decided to burst on friday nights somewhere in the middle of the night. Saturday morning at 5:30, my fire alarm went off because the water had run out of the freezer, into the vent and spilled into the basement ceiling, eventually flooding the lights and then the fire alarm; what actually woke us up.
We managed to salvage all our personal belongings from that part of the basement with only minimal losses, and I now have 2 30 square foot holes in my basement ceiling, along with 7 industrial blowers and 2 large dehumidifiers plus 2 injectdry mats in my house.
Could be worse. Insurance will take most of it and I was planning on a new fridge anyway. House sounds like a wind tunnel right now though.
