I find the Flash doesn't just dance with the line between light-hearted and too cheesy; it club grinds with it.

When I watch the Flash, I feel like I am sitting in a crowded theater with 14 year-old girls waiting for the lights to dim so the new Twilight movie can begin. Essentially, I feel like I am definitely not a part of this show's target audience.

I don't mind cheese. I own (and still enjoy) the old Wesley-Shipp Flash series. This one though.... I dunno. It's too CW-ish?

DC's Real Battle is How to Create Its Superhero Universe. Good read.

Zod always has to die...that is how it goes. They killed him way back in the Chris Reeve movies, I don't see anyone ***** about that. I'd say what happened in Superman 2 30 years ago is worse. Zod had no powers, Superman crushed his hand and tossed him in a pit to his death. He was powerless. In Man of Steel, Superman snaps the neck of Zod to stop him from deep frying a family of four. How is that worse?

It is good. But it looks like Bats is back to not being able to turn his head.

Marvel has made a boat load of money recently by making movies about a guy in a metal suit. DC thought they'd give it a try.

I feel like the person in charge of most of the creative decisions movie-wise at DC was only given the job because they are one of the higher-ups' nephew or something. And it's been a cushy gig for a long time. But now that the top execs are craving and demanding some of that Marvel pie, immense pressure is now put on "Brad" to actually do some actual work and years of laziness has dulled him and made him incapable of standing up to pressure.

I think the problem stems from the fact that Marvel is making their movies, but DC doesn't own the movie rights, Warner Bros does. Marvel seems to care what happens to their movies while WB simply wants to make money like Marvel is.

ALL of DC is owned by WB. Not just the movie rights, they own the whole damn thing. And as such, they treat the comic people like little kids on Thanksgiving.

Which isn't much different from Disney owning Marvel (other than the marvel movie rights mess, which gives WB/DC an advantage, really.)

Disney simply has a much better track record of respecting the feel of its original source material than Warner Brothers does.

I'm glad they're going to address Supes basically destroying the whole damn city of Metropolis at the end of man of steel. Really bugged me.

Changed it to the gifv link because the gif was so choppy. Can we add gifv image support to the Glade?

I have looked into it but every implementation requires an upgraded PHPBB version that we don't have... Moo said he was going to upgrade a while ago when we talked about themes but I don't know what ever happened with that.
