You need an ultraviolet account and a paramount (or to create them). I already had one from my lego movie bd purchase.

Do they become part of your account or can you just watch them while the promotion is going on

Mine labeled themselves as "purchases", so I think it's a permanent addition.

So I see this, and rather than think, "Hey, i should create an ultraviolet account for this," I think, "That sounds like a pain. But I don't have those movies on my media server yet. I think I'll torrent them tonight."

This is what media has come to - people will pirate a movie rather than utilize a free *legal* means of getting it, simply because it's more convenient and much easier. (and probably more versatile. I have no idea if the ultraviolet versions can be copied onto my media server.)

some people yes. Others would rather attempt to avail themselves of legal options first.

Interesting, though that the cost of the media has no effect on my desire to pirate it. Which isn't to say something being overpriced doesn't encourage piracy, either, but you cannot combat piracy simply by giving your stuff away for free. They'd do better selling legitimate copies for $5 for a digital download in 1080p in a standard file format with good compression and with no DRM that I could copy onto my Plex server. I would probably go for that.

Yup, I can confirm, the movies are still in my library.

Also, I agree Taly, their method is ridiculously over-clunky. I'm also on the "I pay for my media" train these days though.

I still subscribe to the Gabe Newell opinion "We're not competing with other media platforms, we're competing with piracy."

Hopefully one day the movie companies will get on board (say, when the dinosaurs die out).

If it was on iTunes I'd be all over it.

Ultraviolet sucks *** and I refuse to use it. Luckily I already own all 4.
