After nine years with the same company, today is my last day on the job. Government changes to healthcare have dramatically impacted our margin, and combined with the mass layoffs, there is a mass exodus of talent due to an organization-wide 20% pay cut. I am making the move for family financial stability.
We've found a new owner for most of my departments, and everyone's had two weeks to get to know their new managers / employees. My offices are all cleaned out, everything's packed up and carted home, and now I'm sitting here staring at empty walls. Sad times.
Good news is I have another job lined up, starting tomorrow. Same salary I used to make, same-ish distance from home. It's a demotion, but there's opportunity for upward mobility.
I don't know if I'll have Glade access any longer. Current employer internet restrictions keep tightening to the point where I can't see 75% of posts already, so I've been a lot quieter than I used to be... but if I don't post anymore, you'll know what happened.
