Yay?

I mean, I like what the CW's done with their DC licenses. Not so much what Fox has with Gotham (I consider it relatively /yawn-worthy overall, though it's not bad, per se), though, so it's more likely CW's folks doing stuff right than overarching editorial/creative input from the license owner the way Marvel tends to handle things. As such, we probably can't draw too much inference from any other DC property shows.

But, the trailer looks like they'll be handling Supergirl in a way that makes sense and retains the aspects of her character that I find keep her more tolerable than Supes himself, so that's a good thing, I guess?

It's somehow both its own trailer and its own parody trailer.

I hate that it is going to be on CBS. Don't get me wrong, I will watch it but I don't like CBS.

I'll still watch it and was ok with the trailer until the song came on towards the end.

Gotham isn't bad if you take it for what it is (a cop/crime show set in a DC universe).

It's not *bad*, it's just an average crime show that kind of annoyingly contorts itself to wink at comic fans from time to time.

My main concern, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this will be CBS's first foray into the super hero genre in a very long time. CW has done well with the Arrow and Flash because they embraced them as comic book shows, and didn't try to make them something they are not. I'm afraid with CBS, we may see a sitcom with super power elements.

Probably, but do keep in mind that the "C" in "CW" is for "CBS". The CW is a co-owned network between CBS and Warner Bros., so maybe Moonves has been paying attention to how their sister network runs their own DC series?

Maybe, I've just been burned by the 4 main networks too many times when it comes to TV shows to feel confident.

so, has anyone watched this? The pilot was leaked online a few weeks ago. It's not a screener copy (no watermark), high quality, and the prevailing theory is that CBS realized how much the early leak helped Flash (free advertising!) and intentionally leaked it themselves.

My opinion of the pilot episode is... mixed. It does appear, however, to tie in to the Man of Steel/Batman vs. Superman line of movies.

I really don't know what their vision is for this as an on-going series. Supergirl is a character for whom doing the whole "learning to be a superhero(ine), what that means for discovering herself as a person, and making a lot of mistakes along the way" thing would fit well, and be charming while doing it. But every time I think they're doing that (like, with the oil tanker), they swtich gears and spend all that potential in a five-minute montage.

They did it in the pilot with the costume, and they did it again in the second episode with the "start small" montage.

The writing is more than occasionally cringe-worthy, but I like the actress's pluck, so I want it to get better. Meh?

The first episode was...meh. I really didn't care for it. I liked the second episode just a weee bit more. They are trying to run when they should just be starting to walk. I will give it one more week.

Haven't seen the show yet, but this "interview" definitely made me like the actress:

Her I love. She was fantastic on Glee.

Don't look at me like that.

I've been watching it with my daughter. Special effects are so-so, but we're giving it a shot. It's a lot lighter in tone than Arrow and Flash, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The actress playing Kara does a good job of showing joy in being a hero.

Phe and I decided to give the pilot a go last night and immediately bought the next episode and devoured it as well. While the trailer was absolute crap, and the dialogue's...not great, the show itself is relentlessly charming. Benoist is excellent.

I never cared to watch Arrow again after the second episode, and never started The Flash. I'm happy with this one, though.

Arrow got so much better as it went. I don't complain so much about the writing, acting*, and the horrible lighting and makeup. ;-D

Flash is pretty good. It hit its stride a lot faster than Arrow because it was a spin off.

* You could not have convinced me that John Barrowman could act if this is all I had seen with him.

FarSky...you should watch the first few of the Flash. It is so good. So good. It is all on netflix, it won't cost you a thing.

If you liked NBC's cancelled Constantine series, Matt Ryan reprised his role on this week's episode of Arrow.
