Bethesda announced a good reason to be excited if you were planning on playing Fallout 4 on your X-Box One... PC mods will be functional and downloadable on X-Box One, as well!

Maybe it works with your phone, but it doesn't work with my phone.

I took out a raider camp and then got blown up by a mole rat they had covered in land mines that sprinted out of nowhere. 10/10.

I don't play (although someone just gave us an XBox 360, so maybe I can pick up an earlier version?), but the LA Times today had an article about the game that you all might find interesting. Basically, the reviewer says he's not sure if it's worth all the effort, although he did like it a lot.

Unfortunately, it's only dropping on current platforms, so that means PS4, Xbone, and PC only. I recommend PC. :)

Funny article, although I think maybe that guy should just play easier games. The true value in bethesda games has always been the **** around potential. Their storylines are generally just OK, but the open world that will let you play to your hearts content are great. I never even finished the main storyline of skyrim, but I did see some pretty great stuff off the beaten path.

Not to mention, the modding community, oh lord the modding community for these games. Six months from now fallout 4 will not even exist in it's current state.

I saw a Super Mutant running toward me. When I used VATS, I saw he had something rather bomb like in his arm. I put every shot into his arm, it was a nuke.

Word of advice: Don't go 'cleaning up' some of your build sites until necessary (or you've put some points in perks that improve returns on what you scrap) I managed to clean up both Sanctuary & the Gas Station before I realized those perks even existed-- now suffering shortages of screws and the like.

Ah doh, I did the same. First thing I had to do was clean up the town, it was a wreck! Wonder how much that's gonna cost me...

Oh, I was thinking an earlier version, like 3 or something. I'm always a generation or two behind. I do like the idea of an open-ended game, though.

At the risk of being pilloried, I'm more looking forward to sinking my teeth into Rise of the Tomb Raider tonight.

It is all kinds of gorgeous. The voice acting is about the same as before, though there's a little bit more of it early on than in the previous one. The animation continues to be nothing short of amazing and all kinds of lifelike (if pulpy, somewhat melodramatically so, to match the plot).

The platforming is great, combining a fluid flow to most of the sequences with truly artful level design that disguises the way the level is designed out of these things you're supposed to use, making them blend in and not detract from the scenery, while being easily "readable".

OK,

I have encountered a bug in the Xbone. Every time I start the game, the last save is corrupted. Not sure what in the hell is going on but now I run around and save every few minutes.

My biggest gripe is that you can't crit outside of VATS anymore. I didn't learn this until 7 hours into the game with a pumped-up 7 points in Luck from the get-go. I rarely use VATS. So much so, I typically forget it's even a feature. The vast majority of my fights are all hectic, iron-sighting frenzies (and I'm playing on at least hard). In the previous FO FPSers, Luck increased your crit rating across the board.

I decided to just cut my losses and restart.

I sort of wish Bethesda had decided to go a slightly different path than their usual games though. The whole "You've mastered the wasteland in 10 minutes while we have yet to and we've spent our whole lives here" and "We've only known you for about 2 minutes, but we trust you completely. You're definitely the coolest person we've ever known. Here, take my really cool legendary gun!"

I both love and hate that junk isn't worthless. More love than hate. I like actually scrounging around rather than "well, all of that is filler eye candy but that obviously perfectly placed item is right there for the taking." Now it's more: "Nice! A board game! This has nuclear material!"

Overall, I like it.

Word to the wise: set your fast travel locations inside your settlement defense perimeter. The default is apparently also the spawn location for random raider/supermutant attacks. I spawned after fast traveling to the Slog, and was promptly blasted by a hail of (my own) missiles and lasers and auto turret fire that were hitting the super mutant raiding party that also just spawned. That might have been survivable but for the fact that the spawn location was also surrounded by Nuclear Pintos.

The results were .... Spectacular

Today I fast traveled to the super duper mart. I'm apparently high enough of a level that I spawned next to a super mutant behemoth and a suicider, who immediately detonated... I have no idea how I survived that.

SO I went all in with the Brotherhood of Steel. It was interesting...

I'm pretty sure I am the bad guy of the story.
