My husband is 67 years old. He was a Marine in Viet Nam. He has worked hard his entire adult life to provide for his family and make sure we were taken care of...

Friday night he was fine although he said he didn't feel well. He is in the ICU tonight with multi organ failure and in a coma...he will not last more than a few days.

I have no idea where to go from here...

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

He came out of the coma sometime during the night. He was awake and able to talk to me a little. My son came just before noon and had a nurse call the doctor. He said probably no longer than 24 hours, maybe a bit more. My son and my step-son are spending the night with him. I wanted to stay but I forgot my insulin and I have two dogs at home that needed me.

As I was leaving tonight, he held my hand and told me he loved me...

All I have for you is, hugs. Not much else I can say.

He was moved to hospice care this afternoon. I want to bring him home, but my son, my stepson, and brother in law say no. All I need is a nurse to check on him daily...I can do the rest, as I have been since Sept. 21. I just remember my mom asking my dad to let her die at home in her own bed. I want that for my husband of 34 1/2 years. Is that so wrong?

I have been taking care of him full time since Sept. 21...part time since Aug.27...I have to inject myself every day twice a day so I can do that if needed, I have a blood pressure machine so that's doable, a thermometer is available almost everywhere...anything else a home care nurse can do. My living room is a hospital room already, might as well make use of it. As his wife it is my decision. I will talk to his doctor tomorrow. I think it is in his best interest.
