Baby I have been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Thanks for the music, Leonard.

/mourn.

May you rest in peace Mr. Cohen.

Listened to Hallelujah three times today, three versions. Now to search put some of your other work.

A funny thing happens when you start searching through Cohen's original work... You realize you knew far more of his music than you thought. Oh, you may never heard him perform the song before, but you've heard some other artist cover it. His writing was very prolific and quite popular with other musicians.

Started around the same time as Bob Dylan. Eclectic career, prolific, and yes, many of his songs were made famous by other artists. Bird on a Wire has been covered by at least two dozen people you've probably heard of. Famous Blue Raincoat is another popular cover.

Great talent. Sorry I never saw him live.

A fantastic Pentatonix cover, barely a month old, coincidentally.
