I was actually referring to the debt, which has gone down another 22 billion since the first month, bringing the total debt down 34 billion so far.

Where did you find this information?

All these tweets are just a political strategy on Trump's part. It's the same thing as when he tweeted that global warming was a Chinese hoax and then got on MSNBC to say he was just kidding/trolling. Anyone that's going to be inclined to take the tweet at face value is probably not going to watch MSNBC, and if they happen to hear about it second-hand, they don't trust MSNBC anyways so they probably still won't believe it. Thus he picks up support from the fringe without actually having to deal with the consequences of actually supporting fringe positions.

Similarly, people that want to hear that the media is a bunch of liars that are constantly attacking Trump aren't going to care if this particular claimed lie or slight actually happened.

We've now learned that not only was Donald Trump's going out for a steak dinner without notifying the press immediately after his election a dire threat to the Republic, but how he prefers to eat his steakis apparently a crisis as well.

If anyone is still wondering why people defend Trump, this is why. It's really impossible not to when the same press outlets that pompously lecture us on the dangers to freedom he supposedly represents then try to shoehorn a preference for well-done steak* into that narrative.

*I've been getting pretty serious about grill and BBQ over the last 10 years and while I don't make my steak well-done in the traditional sense, I've used a couple methods that create the appearance of well-done cooking without drying the steak out, such as planking (also fantastic with pork loin, lamb, trout, or salmon). Indirect cooking for 1 to 1.25 hours, depending on thickness after a very brief sear on either side also works nicely; for boneless beef ribs, go about twice as long but even farther from the heat. Both methods result in little or no red color, but otherwise similar to "medium" characteristics. Food sophisticates would probably take issue with these techniques because they take too long for a restaurant, despite the fact that they're pretty easily mastered (just don't get distracted during the "sear" portion of the cooking, for the slow cook technique and let it go too long.)

I don't have any particular opinion on traditional well-done steak beyond to say that if someone eating their steak that way causes you agony when the person is a paying customer, you're a **** idiot and shouldn't be serving food.

People should be forced to read both Fox news and MSNBC before commenting on anything, just so they know how stupid both political extremes can sound.

MSNBC and FOX don't even actually represent the extremes. The extremes are more like InfoWars and Mother Jones.

It's nice to know that whatever opinion is posted here, someone will tell you that you're wrong and they know better.

I'm used to it, but then I usually think they are wrong. Reminds me of the old story about there being three sides to every argument. Yours, mine, and the truth. I'd say that oversimplifies things a bit.
