In 56 days, it will be 70 years since Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play.

Yes, clearly the Pol Pot equivalent is the guy with the hair you don't like because he blew up some fighter jets, not the guy using those jets to gas civilians.

This thread has zero to do with current events. WWI was a changing moment in this nation's history; no one from that time is alive now. If the only thing you can think of on its anniversary is how you can vent your spleen at current events, something is wrong with you.

Actually DE, there are many Centarians who date from that time, but almost none were old enough to be fighting in the war, and none of the decision makers who led the country have survived.

Yes, it was a pivotal moment in our countries history, and it was a right thing to do. We provided support and aide to our allies and friends, and began the change from an agrarian nation to a manufacturing nation as we had the manpower and resources to help arm the allies. Our intervention probably changed the outcome and shortened the war by a few years .

Our biggest mistake came at the end of that war when we briefly invaded the Russian Socialist Federalist Soviet Republic along with the other Allies in an attempt to restore the Russian Nobility. There was no effective leadership or mandate for this move, it fel apart quickly, and it helped form the Soviet Union and its paranoia by their allies turning against them with no provocation.

But that's another story.

You're right, I misspoke. I meant adults actually involved, not children.
