Okay, Viveheads -- now that I've got my Touch controller setup (see my series of posts about setup and brief impressions on the Oculus Home games in the VR Thread on the Tech forum), what's good on Steam for roomscale/rugscale gaming? I'm looking for a couple good titles in the easy cross-platform space so I can participate in the broader VR community when I look to set up Steam VR this week.

Edit: Retitled thread since it didn't garner any attention, and I feel like calling out new content on both distribution platforms. No sense bogging the place down with multiple topics for a niche subset of us.

Oculus looks to be knocking it out of the park on content. GDC announcements look amazing, and then they just gave Touch owners Robo Recall from Epic for free, today.

Other recent acquisitions -- Tilt Brush made it to the Home store, so I picked it up but haven't yet played with it. Ultrawings is a lightweight flight sim that aims for immersion (right down to simple, but manual, start-up sequences) with obstacle course challenges and the like in an Ultralight (with other unlockable craft). Feels like a spiritual grandkid of Pilotwings. If it supported actual joystick (and rudder pedals) inputs, this would be a home run. As it is, it can be a little bit touchy since it's a little awkward to find and maintain a stable centerpoint on a virtual joystick. Might be better for people with better proprioception and muscle memory than me. Even so, it's a fun little experience that introduces you to things at a nice pace and then lets you loose on an open world to fly around in.

SuperHot VR got a nice update that opens up a sort of endless mode when you've beaten it, which is cool.

Robo Recall just finished installing, so I'm off.

Google Earth VR is well worth a go on the Vive. Along with the various Valve demos and Space Pirate Trainer.

I've not had a crack at Robo Recall as my dev Touches don't seem to qualify for the free copy  Have you tried using a 3rd sensor for room scale yet? Can get pretty close to the tracking effectiveness of the Vive that way, also if you get a couple of tall mounts and pop the sensors above head height angled down, that works pretty well.

I've debated getting a Playstation VR (because putting out games involving Batman, Ghostbusters, and the Alien, they are apparently targeting me, specifically me), but it's a bit much to drop, particularly on the heels of the Switch release. Also, I know myself, and I wouldn't rest until I picked up a PS4 Pro to go with it, so add that into the mix.

*bump*

So, a friend of mine just got a 'rift. He is a pilot so he is mostly aiming to get into flight sims (already bought X Planes 11 or w/e), but he seems open to other types of games as long as they aren't gory kill-y type stuff (no zombies, etc.).

Any first-hand updates on what's cool and what's not cool on the VR front? Kaffis?

Lone Echo and Superhot VR are worth a go. Also Star Trek: Bridge Crew is quite fun.

Tin hearts looks awesome! Unfortunately my only VR rig is the PSVR and I don't see it available there. If/when it does, you can count on my money!

I've had it running nicely on PSVR, but we need to finish up the other acts before we can release it on there.
