That would be an awesome fight.

Now that the film roster has gotten some shakeups, maybe. I still don't see the xenomorph putting up much of a fight against the likes of Vision, Scarlet Witch, or even Cap.

Now imagine one fighting Hulk, Thor, or Ironman.

Marvel's multimedia onslaught has finally kinda broken me...there's just too much to try to keep up with, and if it doesn't immediately grab me, or has too much negative buzz out of the gate, I just can't make the time for it. The movies are sporadic enough that I can manage them (we're seeing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tonight, in fact). I was really looking forward to Iron Fist, but I never got around to it or Luke Cage after abandoning Daredevil halfway through season two. I still won't watch Agents of SHIELD, and while the upcoming Runaways intrigues due to my love of the books, I could not possibly care less about Inhumans.

I don't know if I'll get to The Defenders or not...I don't really want to watch it without having seen the previous series, but that's an awful lot of homework to slog through.

I managed to finish Iron Fist. It was seriously flawed.

However, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage have never dropped the ball for me, so I'm still hyped about Defenders.

Anybody seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, yet?

I did! We loved it. It's faster, freer, and funnier than the first, with more heart and emotion to boot (that's not a slight against the previous film, which was great; this one just felt even more stylish and confident). Chance of invisible onion-cutting ninjas also attending your screening: very high.

I think the Vox review's opening summed it up pretty perfectly:
Quote:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is like listening to your favorite Fleetwood Mac song, while traversing a rainbow on a unicorn that fires glitter from its butt and laser beams from its eyeballs.

It’s an awful lot. At times it’s overwhelming. But it is, without a doubt, awesome.

Between Doctor Strange, GotGv2 and soon Thor: Ragnarok, I'm very much digging Phase 3's weirdo cosmic '80s psychedelia theme. I'm going to hate to return to regular old Marvel cityscapes and giant sky holes.

Awesome. Must see this weekend. As much as I have loved the MCU almost in its entirety (the MCU is like pizza - its worst movies are still pretty good, even as we complain about them), Guardians of the Galaxy has, thus far, been my favorite. More GotG, better than the first, sounds like heaven.

Don't forget Civil War was part of Phase 3. I loved it, but it definitely lacks the "80s psychedelia theme."

I liked it a lot more than the first one as well. Good stuff.

Very fun movie.

It's an odd thing that straight-man Drax has become the primary source of humor in this film.

I thought there was some hilarious parts in it, but I thought the bits with Ego dragged a bit and I give the first one the edge. That could possibly be because it was a complete surprise as to how good it was. Now it's expected. So even if the second is just as good as the first it won't seem as good just because it came second.

We enjoyed it a lot. My daughter (turns 13 in a few weeks) couldn't stop laughing. She absolutely adored it.

Loved that they included
Spoiler:
cameos by the original 1970's GotG!!

However,
Spoiler:
the change from J'son to Ego being Peter's dad was odd. I guess it worked, though. I suppose generic a'holes are passé these days, so they went another direction.

Apocalypse was a rogue "Engineer" from Prometheus.

And again, not Marvel/Disney, but Dazzler will be in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Aw, hey, someone made a low-budget fan film of Inhumans! That's adorable.

wait what

My favorite comment: "The IMAX cameras really bring out the majestic beauty of the community college they filmed this at."

That.... that looks really stupid.

I don't know who any of those people are. Nor, why there's a giant bulldog.

that's how I felt about Guardians of the Galaxy when I saw it announced -- just replace "giant bulldog" with "bipedal racoon."

Then I saw the movie.
