I learned from Honor Harrington books.

So this is like the time that Baron High Ridge had to form a government with Countess New Kiev and Elaine Delacroix's "Liberals" eh?

The House of Lords no longer forms the government in the UK, so no.

I'm way worse than Ransom, and unlike her I know what I'm doing.

Also, really, you can't even be assed to read a Wikipedia article or two on the basic structure of the UK government? That would be like 10-15 minutes.

It's better to admit ignorance than feign knowledge

/sigh Well, you at least have her sense of humor.

And I *do* have a basic idea of the way their gov works. I was attempting a bit of topical humor.

Impossible. She didn't have one.

Well, there wasn't any telling that from your initial post.

Also, the "anyone I disagree with politicially is both a terrible person and an idiot" is really not very funny even when the talentless hacks on late night comedy do it (it appears funny because people agree with it, not because it requires any thought) and it's even less funny in text on the internet. If you think everything you disagree with can simply be scoffed away, scoffing is all you're going to get in return.

Gee, no one saw that coming a mile away.

My sense of humor might be more obvious if your jokes weren't 3rd-grade quality horse manure.

There's a bouncing pink pony in the man's sig - that's gotta tell you something. As for "seeing it coming a mile away", well, that's part of the humor, typically followed by "/rimshot". There's funnier stuff, but it's a tried and true vehicle for amusement.

I know right.

I should thank him for being such an excellent straight man.

Your avatar is way more embarrassing than your signature.

(Jaime came up behind me and said 'dere's pinky pie!!' as I was typing this so I guess I have no choice but to give it a pass.)

Eh, I'll take it. :)

Generally speaking, if I'm not being a troll, I'm being snarky.

I *wanted* to engage you on Honor Harrington nonsense for funsies.

Maybe Hellfire wasn't the best place for that? Just a thought. Hellfire is like engaging in energy range; you want to be way farther away than that for Honorverse stuff.

It also just occurred to me that out of an HH discussion relating to the UK government, I learned the name of the pink pony in your signature. Didn't see that coming.
