Xur has returned. He is selling a fusion rifle called Merciless. DO NOT pass it up; this is D2's version of Gjallarhorn. Costs 29 legendary shards.

Also selling an exotic armor for each class, 23 shards a pop. Not selling anything else.

He's located in Nessus, Watchers Grave this week.

My Titan is at PL 269, I think (on PS4).

I still need to finish the campaign with my Hunter, and Warlock. But I've been holding off on doing so, because I don't want to get burnt out before the PC version comes out on 10/24. So I haven'te really been playing much.

Finished the Red War with all three characters at 20. Hunter is 270 light. Still working on the orange missions on the planets. I seem to enjoy PvP a little more in this game. I guess I just like the 4 vs. 4 better.

The story line, was freaking great. The story was better than the first game and it was more fun. Cayde was talking about Mars in one of the missions, I am hoping when the DLC starts to come in, we go back to the other planets.

I have watched my son do the Raid, some spiffy stuff drops. Looks like a huge pain in the ***.

Finished soloing the Red War tonight. I went on vacation for almost two weeks right after the game released, so I realize I'm lagging compared to others of my modest playrate... but that doesn't really bother me as I expect I'll prefer it on PC anyways, especially now that Forza came out and is entrancing my brother and the other guy I'd otherwise end up doing most of my Destiny-ing with on X-Box this time around.

Regardless, it's been handy to get a sense for how much one has to push on the campaign vs. side missions, and so forth. I've worked my way up to 215 or so PL without really much effort and without turning in any coins to date, despite racking up what I assume is a reasonable cache of them doing public events and high value targets and the like as I came across them. Poked my head around the social area to get re-oriented with the new stuff, browse through faction rewards to see what's out there, and so on. Then decided it's time to get a few other things done.

I am 297 or so, haven't done any milestones this week to raise that, but hopefully I'll end up at 300. Have tried the raid thrice; have yet to see the final boss but have beaten the other encounters. If you need a buddy on PS4 add Lenas04.

Finally had a successful raid today. Just over an hour, the group was really good. I was very glad to be able to turn in what ended up being 71 tokens afterward. Ended the day at 303.

If you're still on the fence about getting the PC version, definitely take the jump. I've been playing on PC. 4k, 60 fps, and HDR.

It. Is. Glorious.

If anybody wants to friend me, I think my Battle.net profile name is Screeling#1943.

Yeah, the PC version is quite lovely. I've been playing at high textures, etc., 2560x1600, and pegging the vsync at 60 constantly.

I was also pleased to discover that all the satisfying precision guidance (yes, I know it's auto-aiming, but it doesn't make them feel any less satisfying) seems to be carried into the mouse control scheme, so your favorite scout rifles and hand cannons are still headshot magnets despite the higher precision technically available.

Screeling, I sent you a friend invite. I'll probably not be on again 'till next week, but, you know..

Hrm... Aim assist shouldn't be enabled when using a mouse.

Hmm. Maybe it's not, then. It sure feels like hand cannons and scout rifles are just as precision-magnetic as before. Either way, the point is that it's still satisfying.

Does your reticle automatically move when a target moves in front of it? That would be aim assist.

Off-topics:
http://light.gg for all your collecting OCD needs

I just crossed the 170 hour mark. Have my main at 305, Titan at 300, Warlock on final campaign mission at 186. Still enjoy playing though I wish there was more incentive to focus on my Hunter rather than having to switch to the alts after milestones are done.

Curse of Osiris (DLC 1) has been announced for a December 5 release date:
• Level cap raised to 25
• Power cap raised to 330
• New story missions
• New planet Mercury comes with social space, strikes, exotic quest, story missions, pvp map, etc.
• New "raid content" - unclear if this will be a new raid completely, addition to Leviathan, etc.

There are different types of Aim Assist at play in Destiny, which I assume also carried over into 2.

https://www.destinygamewiki.com/wiki/Aim_Assist

Quote:
Bullet-magnetism: This is by how much the game forgives you for being slightly off-target. It leads to bullets to veer at any ever-so-slightly off-target to hit a mark at the more extreme end a hit-scan calculation. Without any bullet magnetism, your gun would have to strike the target precisely. With bullet magnetism, you just need to satisfy a minimum requirement out-put value through the game's accuracy formula.

I suspect this one is still present because the Auto-Aim like with controller is definitely not there. The gripe is that Xim4's being used enables the Auto-Aim and along with the Bullet Magnetism, makes for a headshot buffet.

I finally get a morning off, no wife or kids in the house, and a good solid hour to play. Bungie must have found out because they chose that time to do maintenance. Now I don't know what to do with myself.

So, this morning I finished up the story arc for Forsaken. Story wise, it might be my favorite. I choked a little bit on some of the other changes to the gear and things but I think I have a handle on it. The cost to upgrade armor and stuff went way the hell up. They are pretty much forcing you to use the new armor as it drops for you. Otherwise, you will be horribly underleveled for the content you are trying to play.

Also, Gambit is fun as hell.

A lot of the new stuff sounds cool and all. Bungie has just screwed things up so many times that they haven't done enough good to justify coming back yet. On top of that, every event pretty much seems to require no-life'ing the game in order to complete it before they discontinue it. Still just doesn't feel like the right time to come back.

I don't raid so I don't factor that into anything at all. Like the last event, some of the armor required the raid to make masterwork. It just didn't happen. I did what I could on my own or with my two buddies who also play and went from there. I finished everything except for the raid stuff in the last event. All the while working 60+ hours a week. I enjoy what I can do and don't think about the rest.

You don't have to do everything to have fun with a game, Everquest taught me that.

I know what you're saying, but in Everquest, if I heard about something cool, I knew I could eventually get to it as I made progress.

In Destiny 2, I wanted to get an exotic masterwork on the faction rally, but nope, even with groupmates I couldn't grind that out within a week. Wanted to get that sweet new exotic sniper rifle. Well, just so happened they made the event trigger only start on the days/nights I work. I really wanted to work on that level 400 armor. Well, the event was only going to last a month and I ran out of game time that month because of exams. Whenever I got time, things largely amounted to grinding the same damn milestones I was already doing or working on content I knew I'd never complete in time.

I just don't understand the need to put limits on content accessibility. Bungie made me feel like I didn't have a game waiting for me when I could get to it. Still doesn't seem like this expansion adds enough to change my mind.

Whisper of the Worm...yea that **** thing. I missed out on that one as well. Super over powered, I can't believe it has not been nerfed a bit yet.

I'll probably join you guys. I don't play as often as I used to, but I'd like to start teaming up to do some of the more challenging content.

Right on. Clan page is here and it's open to join:

We're both named similarly to our names here.
