NJ, CA, NY not as open minded as Iowa.

*****.

I don't know why everyone is rehashing what I say every single time Taly comes up with a moral attack.

There is moral absolutism, however humans (being the lazy creature we are) are generally not introspective enough to glimpse even a part of it so hold various and divergent moral positions so morality is functionally relative.

I'm guessing this is a joke, since the citizens of Iowa got this forced on them by the courts. It's an old story, and I believe there is a move in motion to change what needs to be changed to get the court ruling overturned via legislation.

Same story, different day:

Court, "Gonna be this way."

Citizens, "Just a minute, bucko."

Dunno the status of the movement atm, though.

As it should be. People's rights and equality under the law should not be decided by majority vote. Were that the case, blacks would still not have the right to vote, women would not have the right to vote, and we would still be living in an even more unjust world. This is why we have the courts - to operate as a check to tyranny.

Untill it begins to act as an oligarchy, dictating to the citizens the laws they will live under. We fought a revolution to escape that kind of tyranny, it's best not to go back and have to fight that fight over again.

So exactly how are they gays in NJ being treated unfairly.

New Jersey offers civil unions that grant the legal rights of marriage to gay couples

This fight is nothing more than a matter of semantics.

Except in the long run they'll probably be better off, as the new health care overhaul plans specifically penalize marriage.

In 1272, the Muslim Arabs invented the condom, using a goat's lower intestine.
In 1873, the British somewhat refined the idea, by taking the intestine out of the goat first.
