IMDB stuff about Captain America
Spoiler:

Who has been cast for the lead role?

No actor has been cast as of yet. Both Tom Jane and Nathan Fillion are in talks, a rumor was abound that Will Smith was offered the part but all sources deny that.

Okay... Please for the love of god NOT Tom Jane!!!

And I like Nathan Fillion, he is a damned good actor.. but Captain America? While I am not 100% against it, I do not know about that idea...

And please, although Will Smith is a good actor.... Captain America is going to be a 1940's period piece from everything I read... Steve Rodgers was not black, he looked like the master race after the serum.

No, just no. Major suckage predicted.

Cap has to be cast right. I might greatly enjoy the actors performance in other roles, but no, not as Steve Rogers, not as Captain America.

I agree. I found this guy, whom I think would be perfect for the role, were I casting....

Mark Valley. He is in the Fringe and Human Target.

Graduate from Westpoint; and served in Desert Storm. I think he looks the part.

Nathan Fillion must be cast as Clint Barton. That's all.

All these guys are too old...

I want Chris Pine, Cpt Kirk from the new Star Trek.

I think the guy who played Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight would also be a good choice.

But the day Will Smith plays Captain America is the day I burn everything I own that is Marvel related and become a 100% convert to DC. I am mostly dead serious.

I can't stand Will Smith. I like a few movies he's in, but I've come to the realization that the annoying gnaw at my brain while watching his movies is actual hatred for his "acting." It's like in 99% of the role's he's cast in, he's the Fresh Prince with just a different title. "Hey, check me out, I'm slightly breaking the 4th wall and acting smug because Hey! I know you dig me! So check out the awesomeness that is me, as I strut around a bit more for you!"

I understand what you mean, and he does fall back on that too much, but at this point it seems like he's done enough decent serious roles to show his range. What did you think of his work in I Am Legend or The Pursuit of Happyness? I think that tinge of bravado and "hammyness" he always puts forward is just part of who he is, and not intentional.

When he's really trying to control it, it's not bad. I didn't mind Will Smith until very recently. And it was then that I tried to pinpoint just why I was bothered by him. And that's when I figured out what it was.

I think it's commendable that he's come so far from being DJ Jazzy Jeff's rapper and that he transcended family sitcom obscurity.

If he's playing the Captain America from the Truth series, I'd give it a shot. But only if they do the real Cap movie first.

But yes on Nathan Fillion for Clint!

Human Target (with Mark Valley) is awesome.

It's like Captain America and Nick Fury.
