Spoilers here

I've not looked at the spoilers yet. I really don't know what they were thinking about casting Depp as Tonto though. I loved The Lone Ranger as a kid. I mean, just loved it. I got to meet Clayton Moore when I was like four or five. He was dressed for the part, mask and all. It was one of the highlights of my childhood. I really want to see this done right.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's a Bruckheimer film. It will be over-produced and VERY pretty to watch, but will have pretty much no real substance.

That they have Depp as Tonto leads me to believe they are going for something with a feel like Pirates of the Carribean.

I was a big fan of The Lone Ranger as well. Had a mask and six shooter myself.

I dunno, sounds like they'll muck it up.

So long as he doesn't play Tonto as having gotten into the firewater, I suppose it could be OK.

As if there's anyone that thinks that Depp's Tonto won't steal the show.

I don't like Matthew McConaughey as a possible ranger, but it's currently being written by the writers of The Mask of Zorro, which was excellent. Hrm...

Clip from the video about the current script - "Tonto is a combination of the last of the mohicans Hawkeye, and Alec Guinesses Obi-Wan Kenobi"

..."The Lone Rangers"? There's three of you, you aren't exactly lone.
