Let me get in on that. *hugglesKirra*

Even though Mus is in there, I want a part of this too.

I can't tell you how much it touches me that you are all concerned and have me in your thoughts. Thank You so much. I'm not going to let him win and scare me, I'm going to sign up for a self defense class they are running at the Y. I will not let him run me out, it will be my decision when I leave!

A lot of it "almost knocking you on your butt" was just you not being used to it. It's noyt actually physically possible for a round from any kind of small arm to knock the firer down, except in very unusual circumstances (off balance on a sheet of ice maybe).

As for upper body strength, there are weapon retention techniques that work well for small female police officers. Really though, if you should have to pull a gun out on this guy, by the time he gets close enough to take it you should have pulled the trigger. If you don't think you can.. don't pull the trigger. If he confronts you, don't let him do the movie thing of walking towards you with his hands up and open talking calmly so you don't shoot him. Just because he's holding his hands in an ostensibly benign fashion doesn't mean he's not threatening you if he approaches you. He's assaulted you once already, so if he does you can definitely interpret that as a threat.

Bear in mind though that despite the fact that people often survive handgun wounds, if you do shoot him you'll have to live with that, and moreso if you kill him. That's ok; lots of people live with that. Just bear in mind you won't forget it and you may need some counselling. Also, make sure that you don't shoot him if he's not doing something threatening like trying to get within reach of you.

Just don't be Kim Bauer and you'll be fine.

Also, don't worry too much about caliber or ammunition type. A .22 is probably inadequate but anything else should be fine. Get a gun that is comfortable to carry and fire (not just small enough to be comfortable, but a comfortable shape too. I can't fire a Walther PPK; the gun James Bond carries, despite it being small. It's shape and the bone shape in my hands make it bite something fierce.) Accuracy is much more important than the qualities of the weapon itself, and accuracy comes from you.

You can leave any time you want. You tell your employer you're going, pack everything you can't stand to lose in your car, and mail the keys of the house to your mortgage company. If you're every truly in fear for your life don't let your things own you (In soviet russia....). I know a woman who got on a greyhound with nothing but the contents of her purse. This doesn't mean you HAVE to leave, of course... but don't let yourself be convinced that you're trapped by circumstances.

Is there a family member nearby that you could stay with for a while?

I found a note he left on my back door, says "I love you "

A police officer stopped by and I gave it to him. I also had 5 messages on my land line. I deleted them , but the officer said to not do that and they would listen to them. He said they will still be doing drive bys and will check in on me. He said he would get me some pepper spray.

I thought alot about the gun, and how Diamondeye said I need to be prepared to kill if I am gonna shoot..I can't do that.. I am an ICU nurse .. I would proly shoot him then fix him back up..pepper spray is a better idea for me.

My friend is letting me know when he works. This weekend he is off, so I am going to stay with my sister. I went around my house and made sure all windows and doors were bolted and latched. I am documenting every call and thing that happens. I will probably stay with my sister when ever I feel the need. I have a good support system in my family right now, he is not going to win.

There is a major shortage of qualified nurses in this country. You can have a job pretty much anywhere you want to move to, and in this economy that is amazing.

If you want out of Whoville, this is the time to do it. Look for a career move, a hospital that pays well and gives valuable experience. It is not running away, it is moving towards your future.

Don't let him keep you stuck in Whoville just because you don't want him to think you ran. Is anything else really keeping you there?

People don't like to move from familiar places... However sometimes this is the best way to start a new. Just remember if your friends are really your friends, they'll keep in touch no matter which planet you're on.
