Of course, this wouldn't be complete with at least 1 Monty Python reference.

Image

...And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this Thy hand grenade that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy." And the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... [At this point, the friar is urged by Brother Maynard to "skip a bit, brother"]... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceedest on to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it." Amen.[1] ”

Image

Arthur then holds up the Holy Hand Grenade and cries out "ONE! TWO! FIVE!" Sir Lancelot corrects him, shouting "Three, sire!" Arthur then yells "THREE!" and hurls the grenade at the killer rabbit. The Grenade soars through the air, accompanied by a short bit of choral music, then bounces once and explodes. The killer rabbit dies in the explosion, and the Knights subsequently enter the cave that it had been guarding.

Edited in the killer rabbit picture.

One of our four Cessna Grand Caravans. Interesting tidbit: this is the very plane I walked into the prop, and ended up having to get one stitch on my forehead. Boy was my face red.

shakespeare's Sonnet 130 - personally I always liked the tongue in cheek...

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

When counting in binary with fingers, expressing 132 as 0010000100 results in the isolation of the middle fingers of each hand, a gesture generally considered rude.

IE: if you use your fingers to represent binary digits for 132, you're flipping someone the double-bird.

132 in binary on your hands.

EDIT: So... I was 3 minutes later, but I had a good picture.

In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes,
For they in thee a thousand errors note;
But 'tis my heart that loves what they despise,
Who in despite of view is pleased to dote;
Nor are mine ears with thy tongue's tune delighted,
Nor tender feeling, to base touches prone,
Nor taste, nor smell, desire to be invited
To any sensual feast with thee alone:
But my five wits nor my five senses can
Dissuade one foolish heart from serving thee,
Who leaves unsway'd the likeness of a man,
Thy proud hearts slave and vassal wretch to be:
Only my plague thus far I count my gain,
That she that makes me sin awards me pain.

This gene encodes a chromatin-associated enzyme, poly(ADP-ribosyl)transferase, which modifies various nuclear proteins by poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation. The modification is dependent on DNA and is involved in the regulation of various important cellular processes such as differentiation, proliferation, and tumor transformation and also in the regulation of the molecular events involved in the recovery of cell from DNA damage. In addition, this enzyme may be the site of mutation in Fanconi anemia, and may participate in the pathophysiology of type I diabetes.

Since I am part of the reason for more posts than the number we're on...

143: I Love You (1 letter, 4 letters, 3 letters)

Rumored to be the weight Mr. Rogers kept himself for three decades.

144: I was in math class and bored one day.

I knew 2^24 was 16,777,216, or 4^12th.

I wondered what 12^4 is. 12 x 12 x 12 x 12 is 20736 (12 x 144 is 1728; 1700 x 12 = 20,400; 12 x 28 = 336; 12^4 = 20736)

By coincidence, later in class, the question of what the square root of 20736 is - I said 144.

The teacher insisted we get out the calculators. *sigh*

I freely admit all I did was google "145" and these guys came up. Apparently they are some sort of attack squadron in the Navy who use swords. Good enough for me!

149 is a prime of the form 4n+1 which means it is the sum of two squares (100 and 49).

4n+ 1 primes was a theorem from Fermat and proven by Euler.
