This asshat, a leader in the Tea Party movement, was recently arrested for raping a seven year old girl. The specific branch of the Tea Party movement he was a part of (The Oath Keepers) was in charge of recruiting ex-military and cops and drilling paramilitary maneuvers. He was instrumental in bringing the two groups together.

Now, if we apply the Bill Ayers standard of guilt by association...

Do you by chance have some kind of organization chart showing Tea Party leaders and such? With all the people you say is the boss of me, I'm not sure who it is I'm taking my orders from anymore.

And I'm curious, whose guilt are you insinuating? I can't figure out who you're saying launched their political career from this guy's living room.

Um the Oath Keepers don't drill Monte. They take an oath that they will disobey orders to violate civil rights.

You should be slobbering their knobs.

Hey everyone, let's all not be surprised or disgusted that a seven year old girl got raped. Instead, we can just hate Monte!

I really wasn't going to respond to this thread, but ...

Seriously? This is what you've got?

No one on these forums, except maybe Elmarnieh, had any idea who Sergeant Dyer was until this thread was posted. As such, which is more morally reprehensible? Raping a 7 year old or using said rape to slander a politically disagreeable party for political gain? Because, honestly, I can't figure out which appalls me more.

There is less association in this recent case than in the Ayers controversy. Obama had knowledge of Bill Ayer's past. However, other members of the Tea Party movement probably had no knowledge of this rape incident. Furthermore, the rape was not a political action, while Bill Ayer's participation in the bombings was.

Does it really matter if anyone knew who he was? He is who he is, and that happens to be one of the vocal leaders of the group. If I was a follower of said group, I might want to reevaluate my opinion of the person leading it, assuming he was sodomizing little girls.

So the guy is a douchebag. We get that. He did something abominable. Why don't you answer my question? Which is more morally reprehensible? Because, from where I'm sitting, you're giving Montegue's appalling politicization of this rape a pass because you disagree with the politics of the criminal involved.

My stance is that no one here gives a **** about what Monte says, so ultimately it doesn't matter. Everyone just likes to argue with each other and throw things at Monte because that's the accepted way.

Address what the man did, and how it might affect his group. Don't worry about what Monte wants you to think.

For the record, I think it's much more disgusting to actually rape a little girl, than it is to bring up a discussion (with a political agenda or not) based on the action in an area she is 99.9% unlikely to ever be aware of.

Nah, see, people do care what Montegue says; just like I care what you say and think. It's educational. I get to learn things about other people and other opinions and other options I might not have considered. I was going to leave this thread alone, because it honestly was a non-issue. A criminal did something. Montegue associated him with a political party he likes to attack. The threat was a non-starter until you made the choice to give Montegue a pass.

To be honest, the rape and original post both disgust me. What about you?

Yes, they both bother me. My original post was meant to point out the fact that people are focusing on what I believe to be the lesser of two evils.

See, that's where we disagree. It's the more familiar of two evils, but not the lesser. Were the point of the post to lament a rape, I'd be cool with it. But it's not.

I just don't understand who is supposed to be guilty. There is no formal national Tea Party organization.

That's cool. I see what you're saying: the rape is tangible and abominable. It has visceral impact on the parties in question. This makes it material in a way my offense at the original post cannot be. So, while I do disagree, I simultaneously respect your opinion on the matter.

Teabaggers are rapists. It's pretty clear.

Actually this is twice now that Monty has done this. First he used the death of thousands and thousands of people to take a shot at Bush and now he is using the fact that a little girl was raped to take a shot at a political group he disagrees with. This rapist isn't the only disgusting person mentioned in this thread in my opinion.

1- shoot the rapist in the crotch with a double barrel 12 gauge loaded with snake shot.

2- How about addressing the person in question and not attacking a political movement you disagree with. Why you gotta act like an jerk?

The OP of this thread was reported as flamebaiting. While I don't intend to simply close it based upon that, I will be more actively looking for continued flamebaiting in the near future, and possibly locking those proactively.

So... how many of us are you calling child rapists here?

And if that wasn't foolish enough, I'm wondering how you equate the two?

To me it seems that President Obama and Bill Ayers agree politically, which matters comparitively, as Ayers was a political terrorist. Not so much, it would seem, when comparing a single child rapist to a political movement.

My prayers go out to the children involved.
