I'm just refuting your apparent opinion that because the hilt rewards are replaceable by ToC25 man gear, it shouldn't be valuable.

It shouldn't be worth 20-25k as it is on a lot of servers.

Holy Crap! I completely agree there. They go for about 11-13k on my server.

I've seen it as low as 10K starting bid and as high as over 20K buyout on mine.

About 10-15 on mine afaik. People will gladly pay it. Sure the first 4 bosses in ICC are relatively easy for a guild.

You have to look at it from an unorganized PUG with god knows who in it, they have to beat the content (no sure thing) and then see a drop, and then get lucky enough to win the roll assuming you get to roll. If not, try finding another PUG next week! Yay!

10k is cheap to spare that frustration.

I'd spend it. The only other major expense I see in the future is Artisan riding skill, and after that it's just gems and recipes.

I'd happily spend 15k on it if I didn't raid. Chances of randomly PUGing ToC to get a slightly better one would be pretty slim, unless it's one of those fake PUGs with lists of trusted people and stuff that I work my way onto. At that point it's just a guildname shy of being in a guild.

Money's pretty easy to make now. I'm sitting on something like 50k in gold alone and I only dabble in the AH. If I got serious about it, with Auctioneer sort of mod and a dedicated character (read: one with lots of bag space ) it would be a cinch to make 15k back.

And frankly, the quest line is pretty cool, and having it is a nice little warm fuzzy. I'm going to be hard pressed to replace it, to be honest, even with an upgrade. It's just fun to have.

I do want Bryntroll, but we primarily do 10 man content. We have been pugging 25 man the last couple weeks on Saturday evenings, so the Bone Arbiter may yet be in my future. My history with rolling on weapons is a long sordid tale of serious fail, though. Damn you, Kel'Thuzad axe. Damn you to hell.

Some items won't let you roll need on, even if they are something you can use. Case in point, a nice pvp trinket continues to drop from the dungeon in zangarmarsh. It has resilience on it. But, since the game thinks my current trinkets (that are pve only) are better, it won't let me roll need.
