Incidentally, Nike started in Oregon.

Realistically speaking, in the next 3-5 years, you'll see Oregon pushing 20% unemployment and struggling to deal with capital and entrepreneurial flight.

I have 7 siblings. So the estate will be divided by 8. My oldest sister and one of my Uncles are the executors so I really have no say in any of this whatsoever. Especially since I am on the other side of the country.
The house was appraised a few years ago at 700-800 and was listed in August for 399. Now its down to 349.
I have no idea what is in the rest of the estate financially as far as savings or life insurance or whatever, but not too worried about it. Apparently my mother specified in the will that none of us were allowed to have the money and it would be given to the care of my Uncle who would use the money to pay off our debts and set-up retirement funds if there was any left over. She ensured that we would never see any of it by putting him in charge....but he is really good with money. He was the President of Office Max and CEO of Big Lots.

To me, my vote is worth more than 100 dollars. I see it as a sacred duty as a citizen, so no, that won't be on the line. Frankly, I think it's immoral to exchange votes for money, or on a whim like this. 100 bucks, both ways.

I assure you that 100 dollars means much more to me than it does to you. You either believe in what you said, you can admit it was frankly ridiculous hyperbole.

You refused the bet, for the record. And my post isn't hyperbole. 20% unemployment and capital/entrepreneurial flight issues. Oregon's currently at 11% by the way. It's also in the region of the country hemorrhaging jobs the fastest and with the highest growth in jobless claims month to month.

I think the legislation will be repealed, and quickly - prior to unemployment reaching 20%. You should make some caveats on your bet about that.

Failing businesses or break even businesses will evaporate. The hospitality industry will be decimated by this referendum.

Or the architect submits new plans to the city without sending them to the contractor, so the contractor bids on the previous plans, and when they realize they've got a bunch more expenses due to the change, they go after the client for the money even though it is a no change order contract, and tell the client to sue the architect because they don't want to sue them themselves as they are their bread and butter.
