I dunno; I have never seen your boobs. LOL

But... you are not supposed to bend over. It is supposed to be a test of visibility while standing straight up and just looking down.

I know ..but if I stand up..look straight down I see my feet...unfortunately my boobs do not impede the view of my feet too much. :P

But I tend to put weight on in my butt..so I could have a huge *** and still consider myself thin...hey..maybe this is a good self esteem thingy..

Being physically fit is more important than pure physical appearance, imho. Striving to maintain a healthy lifestyle ftw!

Weight and weight loss is such a tough subject. Everyone has different opinions about what is or should be an ideal weight.

Sass, for the record, in every pic I have seen of you here, I think you look fantastic.

Who cares what anyone else thinks of your eating/dieting habits? Do what you want to make yourself feel and look better (No work needed here, IMHO).

Sass, have you tried asking them to stop? Be polite and understanding and then delete anything they send you at work. Friends that won't listen to simple requests from friends to respect their wishes aren't much in the way of friends. If they are just co-workers and continue have it documented. Either way, it will make them stop and make you feel better (aka they won't be bothering you any more).

grr, and one of my friends posted a link to a video on youtube about anorexia in woman and that 10 million women are anorexic/bulemic, of course that completely ignores the fact that people who are unhealthy due to being underweight is trivial compared to overweight in this country, it's only about 3%, vs the over 100 million that are overweight/obese, sorry, it just really pisses me off.

The thing is, while more people are obese than anorexic/bulemia, those are eating disorders. Suggesting that we ignore them because more people have to opposite problem is like suggesting that people with OCD aren't really an issue because lots more people forget to wash their hands after using the restroom. You can't compare a pathological issue to a poor lifestyle.

Meanwhile, if you feel you need to get more toned and you're doing it under a doctors supervision, great! Every body had its optimal weight/shape and you seem sure of yours. My ideal shape is around 130 at 5'2, which is a comfortable size 8... but it's my natural tendancy to put on weight primarily in the boob and then in the heiny. I can carry around quite a bit of fluff and still have a waist, which makes it easy to camoflage. Taller girls can carry more, but you doc has probably told you that abdominal fat is much more unhealthy than booty-fluff. Good for you for caring enough about yourself to work on it!

Each person wears their weight differently based on their frame, height, and sex.

We are always our worst critcs, tho. Case in point: I will echo the sentiment that every single pic I have ever seen of you, you look fantastic. I would so take you to a Roman orgy.

Here's a net Ideal Weight calculator I found helpful. Visualizing myself at my ideal weight, I can say that it is fairly accurate:

Ideal Weight (I especially like how it takes your body frame into account, as someone of average height on a large frame who is near 200-pounds is still considered ideal, which is more logical than dropping down to 170-ish).

Small tends to live longer. You'll still be laughing at us in 50 or 60 years.

I don't know about that one. It tells me I'm under weight, but my belly says otherwise.

Now if only I could get my belly to move up and support other areas where I'm sorely lacking >.<

There's always going to be some margin for error with these formulaic calculators, especially since they cannot account for HOW your weight is distributed (or, like the flaw of the BMI, how much of that is muscle mass).

personally for me, a diet is when I look down and can not see my toes past my tummy. Thank goodness this has only happened once and it was after a huge meal.

Yeah, that's why I like to take a few things into account, according to that chart I should be 144-158.4, of course according to that chart i'm small framed because my fingers overlap quite a bit, but I think that's just more I have long fingers than anything cause I know i'm not a small frame, more like medium frame, but weight distribultion is also very important as carring weight on your wasit is bad for you, and that's where I carry it, and I think the waist to hip ratio is more accurate than BMI because it does carry though up to muscular people.

Yea, the mere fact that the BMI calcs don't differentiate between men and women should immediately raise the red flag.

Well it's not that it doesn't calculate the difference, it's that with taking into account muscluar people men should be around the same range, I belive just more toward the higher end of the range, the main reason men should be heavier on average is because they are taller, of course a lot of men are fairly muscluar.

For example, take this pic of Adam Lambert, he doesn't look like he's to thin at all, but he is in the healthy BMI range, he's not however overly muscluar like most men are.

Most men are overly muscular? Hah. I wish. But given the same amount of physical activity, yes -- a 5'7" man will probably have a bit more muscle tissue than a 5'7" woman. OTOH, women are supposed to have a slightly higher BMI than men anyway.

Get yourself a way to actually measure body fat, like a Skinfold Caliper. Good height weight calculators are better than nothing (and not as inaccurate as lot of people would like to believe), but, yes, there's necessarily some ambiguity there since the charts don't factor in your level of physical activity and muscle mass. They aren't going to be drastically off unless you're seriously into weight-lifting, but you can expect some variance if you work out regularly and are consulting a chart based on the "average American".

I understand where you're coming from, though. I'm 6'3" with a medium-to-small frame, and in all honesty I don't much get exercise. 200 lbs. is where I draw my line in the sand, but I've been told by several people that this is "nuts". They don't believe me when I say that, at 198 pounds, my weight is "acceptable", but that ideally, I could stand to lose 10-15 lbs. Or in any case, drop my BMI by a couple points, because it's probably hovering at about 25 right now. This jives pretty well with my qualitative observations that I stop needing to "suck in" a little when I hit about 175-180. People refuse to believe this, though.

Ok, here's a comparison pic, now admitedly the older pic is something I specificly posed for to look more sexy in, but still shows the difference, left was this past summer I was maybe 5 pounds lighter than I am now, the right pic was maybe two-ish years ago when I was <140 pounds and fit.

Image

Now yes, clearly I don't look huge or anything near it at all in the newer pic, but to me anyways the difference is obvious, especially in my legs, my legs were very tone back then, now, not so much, and my arms were smaller and more defined, that's where I want to get back to, wish I had more comparable pics but those were the closest I found, maybe if I think about it i'll try to take a pic with the same outfit now, if I can squeeze into that skirt, last time I tried it it was tight to say the least :/
