I make them all the time. The hate just gets in the way of hearing them.
That's a Freudian slip if I've ever seen one.

I was really referring to the hate on the part of the listeners. I'm pretty sure I could argue that it's cold for this time of year in San Antonio, and someone would not only take offense, but insult me in the process. It's the SOP for many posters here.

Which isn't a complaint. If I wasn't used to it by now, I wouldn't still be here. The hate from people like DE reminds me that I'm in the right. When DFK hates on me, I know I must be doing something right.

I get more concerned with some of the others. I generally use the anti-Montegue hate as a barometer of how correct I am on a given hot button topic.

Of course it does. Such legislation is the heart and soul of socialism, if not communism. "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need,"

You know, if you forget about the government owning any and all means of production, the state's penchant for dissapearing and murdering dissenters, the elimination of free speech rights, yadda yadda...

We can take out of context lines from various authors and play all kinds of guilt by association games. Shall we start with evangelical Christianity?

Except, that would generally be an indicator that people disagree with you, not that you are correct. It's a confirmation bias that nothing to do with the accuracy or veracity of your opinions/statements on a given matter.

There some reason you're attempting to call me out?

Start wherever you like, but that's not the point. Unless the public option is entirely revenue neutral, it amounts to socialism, because it has to be paid for by someone. If poor people get subsidies to pay for a public option, the money comes from somewhere. Even you cannot argue that money just appears out of thin air...oh, wait.....

Joking aside, if government spends money, they have to take it from someone. Somebody foots the bill at some point or another.

Did you know...?

If you claim people you disagree with hate you, it makes their points go away. It's especially effective when debating very concrete matters.

People here are welcome to disagree with me. The hate, however, is pretty clear when it shows itself. There's a difference. I know it when I read it. I have known most everyone here for nearly 10 years.

Your hate for all the heretics that disbelieve you is pretty palpable. I would know, I've known you for nearly 10 years.

Lol they don't have to hate me actively (although I think you're wrong about that) to toss out the hate.

See, Dal comes out of the woodwork.

I don't have a problem with people who disagree with me. I love it. I have a problem with people who buy into every idiotic conspiracy that comes down the pike about liberals and the President, and people who hate on liberalism as if it's an invalid political outlook. I have a problem with people who called me a traitor because I opposed the Iraq war, and who continue to believe that liberals don't count as real Americans. I have a problem with people that threaten violence or support violent revolution as a means to achieve their desire political objectives, but those folks are rare on the board. That's about it.

If someone is a dick to me, I'm a dick back. If someone is respectful, that's the tone they will receive.

There's no hate being tossed out either.

"Hate" is a word that is so over-used and in such inappropriate ways that it just about has no meaning left, like "bigot" and "homophobe".

Says the DailyKOS liberal... I find the irony staggering. You vehemently decry anything conservative here, to the point of naseum... and on the occassion where one of the people who is conservative on this board agrees with the spirit of something you say.... they do not feel passionately enough on the issue; so it does not count.

But hey, you are *just* a fencing instructor so what should we really expect?
