That explains a lot in PvP actually, gotcha. We have a lot of holy priests for PvE so it's a net good though ;)

Raid group shows up last night, actually filling all 25 spots. Lo and behold we have 10k more total raid dps too! Will wonders never cease.

Festergut and Rotface both dead within 3 attempts apiece.

This whole concept of fights resting on the dps doesn't sit well with me.* :( Outside of some Sunwell fights and Kael'thas, dps could be not so hot at actually dpsing, and so long as they could move out of fires the guild would win! My guild was very much not prepared for this change!

Ah well, at least they'll be easy farm content in a month or two with overgearing.

Probably going to pass on even trying Professor for now, seeing as how we had some troubles even in 10 before we killed him. Lots of dps needed in p3!

*Yeah yeah ok I can't blame Blizzard for actually making the ability of dps to push out the big numbers actually vital for a change, but... just speaking selfishly, personally here. ;)

POnly got 3 shtos at Princes before I had to go to sleep, but seemed like a weird fight. Everyone also seemed tired so we didn't get very far, I think like 75%

Princes seems to be the kind of fight where if you can make it to 50%, you should win not long thereafter. Nothing really changes about the fight. If your raid can handle the 3 scenarios with the 3 different Princes empowered, then there's nothing stopping you from winning.

Not a DPS race at all. At all. My guild is no paragon of DPS as you guys know and we had something like 5 minutes left on the enrage when we killed them. We even got the Orb Whisperer achievement, which is kinda a silly achievement considering it's what you're supposed to do anyway and not particularly difficult to begin with (see also: no dps race). Stress surviving over all else. It's fine if a dps has to run the hell all over and not contribute at all if it helps ensure they don't die.

Maybe it's just my guild, but I'm actually surprised by how easy they were. We had no practice with them on 10 mans, tried a slightly misguided attempt to tank Valanar and Taldaram with one tank for our first try, and four tries later had them dead. We had the Worst Rotface Kill In History just the day before, but I think we only had 2 people dead at the end of our Princes kill, and I didn't even use my battle rez cause the fight was won at that point. I'd definitely put the Princes below Rotface and probably Festergut, for my guild at least. Festergut will be a joke in 2 months' time whereas these Princes won't be much easier at all (without the incoming zone buff giving health, at least...) but eh, wasn't too bad.

Lana'thel, on the other hand... holy crap. ;) Though trying to move out of fires while healing dudes when I have 3 fps makes me a sad person. I lag so hard the first minute of some ICC boss fights...

My raiding alliance killed Princes 25 last night...

Festergut still managed to evade us, had an attempt last night of 14% before it fell apart

ICC has been nothing short of awful. Things are just getting too goddamn complex. I thought DW was bad... Princes is run from this, stand over there, don't hit that, stand in front of that other thing... I spend more time running around to or from **** than I do actually hitting anything.

Our guild doesn't do complex well. Rotface eats our lunch, Princes is kicking our ***. Its just not fun.

Ours doesn't either. We have Festergut almost on farm, but there's really not that much complexity to the fight, just being able to meet the dps check.

Rottface took 8-10 tries this week. We finally took a shot at Putricide this week and it was horrible. The 3 tries at Princes was terrible too. It'll get better of course, but unless all our best players are on I don't see us having a chance at getting them down.

Last night we were short a couple of our better dps and one of our best healers so we did a TOC25 farm and then took a shot at togc again. We hadn't been able to put out the dps to get through the phases quickly enough before. Last night we had the dps, but people were failing on stupid crap. Had a tank new to the guild who couldn't get it through his head that it was ok to move away from the stationary worm to get toxin cleansed but not ok to drag the mobile worm through the raid to get it cleansed. /facepalm

Princes is one of those fights where once you "get it" it gets a lot easier imo. At first tho it's like.. wha?? Wait who is... when do i... ahh!

Rotface took us like 7 tries last night! Last time we one shot him, zomg. I played like crap last night in general, bleh. Just an off day.

Yeah Rotface is a pain like that. :( Same across-the-board results for me, at least. I think it mostly has to do with the healers and/or the disease removal. People with the disease are really, really hard to heal, and so earlier disease removal makes things easy. Sometimes at the end of the fight when they're coming 6 seconds apart, though, early dispels are often going to lead to additional Big Oozes as people take a second to find the kiter, or the ooze flood is temporarily in the way, or a little ooze is being stubborn about merging into the Big Ooze, etc etc and two little ones wind up merging. So we have tried delaying disease removal to cut down on this, but then healing falls behind... and we often have healers in the first place being assigned to remove the diseases, which is something that I think is a bad plan. When the tank's at 30% and someone needs to be dispelled, the healer sure isn't going to be dispelling them.

Some raid groups have individuals that, for whatever reason, just work out fine together balancing healing and dispels. Others have not. So I go from not even killing him with a fairly decent 10 man group last week, to beating him with what by all rights should've been a worse 25 man group, and it's... confusing. :p

I shall be keeping an eye out for it in tonight's 10 man. Sure would've liked 3 healers for him. Alas! DPS needs to lern2dispel. :(

That about sums up my experience too Noggel. I can dispel myself and it's handy. I'm also pretty good about knowing where the offtank is and getting my *** to her to merge the little ooze quickly but others are not. For our healers to be watching who is where to dispel them and healing at the same time is just asking for trouble imo.

Is there a trick to get them to merge reliably?

Not that I've noticed. Where we have problems is when some people who run to the off tank kiting the big ooze and fail to realize they are keeping the little one out of reach of the big one. You just gotta get almost right on the big one and make sure it merges. Hell run right through it, you're probably taking the aura damage anyway. So long as it doesnt melee you you should be ok.

At the end, I think you just have to accept you're probably gonna get 2 big oozes. I'd say just be ready for that. Have a 2nd offtank ready to pick it up or something if the 1st cant. Another thing is, at the end if people die with the little oozes on them, they'll pick a random person to go to next. Make sure people are aware that one might get on them so move if one is hitting you! There is a setting in DBM to alert you if a small ooze is hitting you btw, I believe it has to be set manually.

We had no shows last night so no more tries on PP or princes.

We've been having tank attendence problems. Our usual offtank, whose gear is in the top3 toons in the guild, had his PC blow up on him about a week ago and he doesn't know when he'll be able to get back in. So we've picked up 2 casual tankadins and their dedication is extremely spotty.

We've picked up 2 very well geared new players, a mage and tankadin, who want to be a little more casual than in their old cutting edge guild. Hopefully they'll be the boost we need to start getting some of these more difficult encounters down.

Attendance boss is the toughest in the game. :(

Easy 1-shot of Rotface in 10 mans this week, with mostly the same group that couldn't kill him at all a week before.

I don't really know what to expect out of him each week, 10s and 25s both. :p I fully expect to run into dire troubles with him again in 25s and moderate issues in 10s. We shall see. I don't know what that says about my guild but there you have it. For Rotface more than anyone, I can't wait for my guild to overgear the encounter so much that he dies before something almost invariably goes wrong.

In only slightly vaguely related news, it seems like so much ICC content now! We're starting to run into time issues where we spend all our night killing farm bosses. Each week it seems we run into less and less time for new content which kinda sucks for my raids. I'm half afraid we'll run into the same thing with the Lich King as we did Yogg - no time to learn the very complex fight since we spend our ~5 hours a week raiding just clearing to the guy... cause it sure does look complex looking at all the abilities on MMO Champion. We shall see soon I suppose. :p This isn't much of a valid complaint anyway since it only applies to guilds like mine that raid so little, but it's a pain and bother for us, darnit!

Yeah we were short a spot yesterday and didnt have some key players so we didnt even try Festergut last night. We did Princes though, and that's one that if you do the mechanics right it's pretty easy even with mediocre DPS.

I had a very good...and very bad...night in ICC-10.

I died on every fight but saurfang, thanks to a hell of a lot of latency (was averaging around 1500ms, with several disconnects.)

I got honored with Ashen Verdict, a Njordnar Bone Bow, and a second Bone Warden's Splitter axe thingie from Marrowgar. Sometimes it's worth the deaths...

Grats Talya.

I picked up my 4th piece of T10 last night. Oh Mah Gawd, it's awesome. I was dancing a little jig. The shadowpriest 4pc bonus is ungodly. I jumped 400-800 dps, just from eyeballing my numbers last night.

Then on the last fight of the night, our 4th or 5th try on Rotface (this one finally successful), I got Dislodged Foreign Object. Can't wait to put it to use tonight!

Apparently hunter T9-2 and T10-2 is far, far better than T10-4. This leaves me with a problem, as I need another crusade trophy to even consider wanting to keep my pants.
