Just when you piss?

Unless you're doing that 24/7, you got some growin' to do.

And, if you think the comment is totally innocuous, look at the state of charter aviation and private aviation in the U.S. since the President's snit over GM Execs using private aircraft to travel to D.C. last year.

Can you link a transcript of the President having a snit please? I fail to find amything except in reference to Citigroup's planned purchase of a plane which was commented on by the Press Secretary. I'd also like to see figures proving the percent of downturn in charter aviation and private aviation due to the president versus that due to the recession.

Here are two of the most recent pieces, but Charter Aviation isn't a big news item. It doesn't get covered. I'm fortunate, or unfortunate more likely, enough to see planes sitting idle; watch small business with 5-10 employees dry up; private charter operators doing nothing with no income because of this. Being a private aviator, I spend enough time at small to medium FBOs at regional and local airports to see charter planes and businesses collecting dust or going broke by the hand full. Of course, it also helps that my Uncle runs an FBO in the Midwest that used to operate as a regional charter hub, particularly for the manufacturing facilities near his airport.

I mean, after all, businesses would always book airline travel for 7-8 executives to meetings and such when private charter travel is generally cheaper and more time efficient, right?

You know, you two are just two guys pissing off a bridge trying to impress each other by talking about how cold the water is - to that I say: It's deep too.

So we're having problems already because of the economy and this douchebag says Don't go to Vegas *again*.

This isn't the first time he's done it either.

Remind me again why we elected this shitstain?

This was the sentiment the LAST time this clown did this ****. For me it is exactly the same. He is jeopardizing my livelihood which is not gambling or living a sin-city lifestyle.

My parents moved here when I was 13; I had no choice but to come here. Now I am trying to make a living and support a family. I am also trying to save enough money to get the crap out of this town. So him giving the impression that Vegas needs to be avoided directly **** me. And I hope he pays for it come election time.

BTW guys, DFK and I are just jawing at each and making ourselves look like asses purposefully. Or at least I am. I can't speak for him. The mood has become palpable lately. I'm willing to sacrifice a little bit of my ego for the sake of the boards. Just not too much.

as an FYI; I am not flamebaiting anyone. I am genuinely pissed that he is telling people that Vegas is such a horrible place to be.

Well NV seems to be good to try and push your nuclear waste into.. but you need to warn others to stay away?

I understand your point DS, and I agree with you. This is either stupid or malicious speech-writing on his staff's part.

Maybe they think with all the people leaving Las Vegas because of the recession it won't affect the vote much.

Realistically, write a letter civilly expressing your displeasure with his pointing his finger at one city when there are several others that provide gambling and booze. Prostitutes are everywhere, no matter what the government or police do. Its only Nevada that has the common sense and decency to regulate and license them, making the Nevada experience safer for the working girls and the customers as well.

If for any reason, he has the balls to come to Las Vegas, stage a protest at any venues he appears at and promote a boycott of those venues as well.

For those who don't know, most of Las Vegas had nothing to do with the casinos. Up until the recession hit it had turned into a modern city with a variety of businesses and some light manufacturing. Yes, the casinos promoting the wild side was the public face, but off the strip it was a pretty decent place to live.

Of course I always question the wisdom of building a city in the middle of the dessert with limited water resources close by, but Los Angeles is a much bigger offender of that concept.

I'm inclined to believe it was ignorance/stupidity on the part of him and his speech writers.

How does that saying go? "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity" or something like that?
