I remember that picture. A couple years ago, one of the tanks had that as their avatar on the guild forums.

As a healer I greatly enjoy the Valithria encounter! Didn't win, as we got there pretty late and only put in about 5 tries, but I think once our dps get a feel for the priorities to kill stuffs it seems a decently easy fight. Maybe some minor adjustments here and there surrounding Abom killing and the like.

I don't know any details on any enrage timer to ruin my plans, though, and that could throw off expectations of fight difficulty. :p

So is that a fun fight? Seems like the most unique boss encounter so far, I've been looking forward to trying it out.

Fun for healers, at least. :p As a DPS it's mostly add after add, with 5 different types, some coming in groups and some solo. Not only do healers do the standard role of "dpsing" the boss, but dps sorta help heal in the sense that dps has to prioritize killing/controlling adds to reduce raid damage as much as possible. One type of add needs to be burned down omgimmediately, another has an interruptable frostbolt volley, another spawns a group of really low hp, fairly hard hitting adds when it dies that need kersploded immediately. There may or may not be a need to properly judge times to AE vs time to single target.

Seems pretty fun... sure better than Festergut or Rotface. But as a healer, when the stars align near the end of the fight, you're rocking a ~250% modifier on your healing, and Guardian Spirit brings a hefty +healing% mod of its own. As a Druid I can't enjoy Bloodlust on top of all that, but it makes the Pallies and Shaman very happy people. :p I think it's feasible to see 150k hp Holy Lights... but again we didn't really get that far into the encounter so I don't have experience or actual numbers once the healers get really big healing modifiers towards the end of the fight.

In unrelated news, a video has been released of the first 10 man Lich King kill! It is pretty sweet. :D I shall put them (2 parts, total around 20 minutes) in a spoiler below! Don't watch if you don't want to see what happens! Note: this is not the cinematic thing, but it has some neat things that are not part of the cinematic.

I really want to see the Valithria fight. Looks fun. We pounded our heads against Prof Putricide last night in 25 man, 10 attempts. Saw some improvement, but we just don't have people who can think on their feet and still do good dps. We'll get it eventually once they all get enough practice on it.

Finally got everyone on at the same time for a couple nights in a row for our 10 mans. Professor Putricide down! Blood Princes down! Vampire bitty down!

Now we're pounding on Valithria. Could take even our 'A team' a bit to get that fight right. We'll see.

Did 10s and got through all of plagueworks including Prof Putricide. Did Princes and Blood Queen, then did Dreamwalker and got that done in 2 shots. We had 3 attempts on Sindragosa, one of which she despawned on us and cost us an attempt...lame. Got her to mid 20% and then we just had to log for the night.

25s we one shot Rotface woo, and we actually got Fester down to 10%ish so that was encouraging.

Sindragosa doesn't start until 30%.

Unrelated to game mechanics, but is anyone, well less them impressed with the Lich King as a villian. I am talking about from a story prospective.

From my view.

Lich King spends 5+ years sitting on the Frozen throne, wakes up, and declares war on the world. At this point the only part of Northrend 100% scourge dominated is ice crown with foray's into the other areas to lesser extents. Rather then securing all of Northrend he immediatly starts stirring things up down south, drawing attention to himself before he is ready. ( He was not prepared? or just arrogance of power?) Either is not great story telling.

We have some assults and zombie plauges and gung ho, Alliance and Horde and independent adventures storm north! Going from the just the Alliance quest lines you watch the Lich king suffer set back after set back. One possible victory is the draw at the battle of the wrath gate. You kill his underling time and again, to hear his essentially I will get you latter you meddling kids.

We get side tracked kicking the teeth of an old god and insane dragon. The Adventures push into his most secure area and set up a fair grounds. In retaliation he luanches what a Valkyr raid and sets up some tank traps near by. I know it would be bad game play for him to come along and pwon all the characters but I wanted to see some hint of strategy or planning in Ice Crown, some hint of his big scheme, or does he just want the adventures to end the Emmo'ness?

Perhaps I am being overly critical, it just seemed like a bad story for the Hero's to so basically come in and curb stomp the villians. I would have love to seen a phased undead haunted stormwind, a huge raid on the Tournament, something or anything to make the story compelling I guess.

hell I am more looking forward to Deathwing who has effected the world more just by waking up!

Arthas was never impressive as a leader at any point in any game.

Ever.

As for the rest, well, Uther explains it to Sylvanus in the Halls of Reflection, he believes the fragment of the Lich King that is Arthas is actually holding the scourge back...that some peice of Arthas is unwilling to destroy the world and fights tirelessly to keep it in check.

I haven't had anything like that, although lag has been a bit worse. Especially in Dalaran.

and yeah... I noticed that my FPS went from an already crappy 30 (computer is not the best for WoW) down to 11.

So I'm not able to make my regular monday 25 ICC and its usually tough to find a decent 10m in the guild, so I pug'd 25 last night and 10 tonight.

25 got down Marrowgar after like 6 attempts, then everyone ragequit on Lady after 3 attempts. 10m was already on Rotface so I figured theyd be a decent group. We had 4 attempts with the lowest to 30% and then the tank left.

godamn I hate pugging. So much lost rep and badges, oh well. I really wish you didn't get timered upon zoning in. Why did they change that anyways?

Started up a druid alt yesterday. I got him the Heirloom chest, shouders, 2h mace and trinket. Beyond that not sure what else to do in terms of making his leveling as fast and painless as possible!
