It's hard to tell. Lots of lip service and chest thumping. The white guy stands up and walks to the front of the bus. The black guy follows him. It appears the black guy slapped with white guy across the face, which prompts the white guy to stand up and punch him in the mouth... The white guy gets off the bus, the black guy stays on and says he needs an ambulance?

You'll have to draw that conclusion yourself after you watch the video.

No, 'cause he's an angry old man, and I'm not condemning it, just pointing out the obvious.

Starts mid argument. Something about shining shoes. Old guy is large, white beard, white. Other dude looked young to me but says he is 50 in the video? Black.

Anyway they're arguing. It escalates "i'll put my foot in your ***" "No you wont!" and such.

Old beard dude goes to front of the bus, yelling back and forth continues. Dude from the back comes up, hits the old dude and then gets his *** beat by the old guy in a beard.

IMO the girls videoing it needed the beating. Whoever was saying "say it again pinky" and "beat his white ***" needed a beating. I took it that the guy who got his *** beat was trying to act tough for the camera and crowd.

My understanding of events from the interview with the girl that filmed it is thus:

Both men intoxicated by something
Black man makes joke about shoe shine
White man thinks he's serious
Black man gets mad
White man beats ***

Ignoring the fact that (it's inferred during their conversation) that the black guy brought up the spit shine first (or at least thats what the white guy thought he said). I think it's rather interesting the the video starts out with the white guy making the spit shine statement. I'd really like to see the video starting at the point where the conversation starts (or just prior). We obviously missed something there...

I'm entirely inclined to think it started off as a huge misunderstanding, but thats just me... Of course I'm automatically suspicious when something like this happens and there just happens to be someone with a video camera there randomly recording stuff....

Yeah, that was my impression too, Lenas. White guy thought the black guy offered a shoe shine for some reason, and the black guy took offense. Shouting match ensues. White guy, who's kinda old, gets angry-scared and comes up from the seat swinging when the black guy reaches towards him.

You HAD to go there.. just had to....

That guy turned into a serious pain machine in less than a second. Kudos to the white guy's reflexes, and those looked like some powerful punches.

If it isn't obvious to you, you're clearly a racist too.

Tom Brusco (67 year old man) was on the AC Transit bus in Oakland, a thug wannabe said "Why a brother gotta spit shine a white man's shoes?" Brusco replied, "How much you charge, for a spit shine, I've got a funeral to go to on Friday?" Argument ensued, Brusco moved to the front of the bus. Argument continues, Thug says "I gonna put my foot up your ***." Thug moves to the front of the bus; puts his hands on the old man, the old man pounds him.
