What I always say. I enjoyed him as my congressmen for five years and would like to see more of him.

No matter how well Ron Paul does the media will ignore him which makes it nearly impossible to get elected in this country.

It's a good political climate for him right now. Everyone is distrustful of the government and afraid of the debt and attempts to become even bigger. So everything right now plays to his strengths.

I wouldnt read too much into it though.

It's pretty obvious that change from without isn't going to work in Washington and Ron Paul is pretty much marginalized. I'm thinking change from within isn't as satisfying but it's the only way it can happen.

As much as I like Ron Paul for certain things, I'm pretty sure this was just a concerted effort to bus in people for exactly this purpose.

My main thought is that with absolutely no details whatsoever, this is just a thread to wank off about Ron Paul.

What I'm thinking is that it's funny to hear Newt marginalize RP immediately following a straw poll win at the biggest conservative conference in the US.

Naturally.

I mean, he'd be like, what.... 78 or something in 2012?

The point, to me, is how funny it is to see these people who jumped on the Tea Party movement naysay the catalyst for that movement.

Just because it's a movement doesn't mean it will win any elections. The movement I had this morning was very unpopular.

I'm not sure popularity is a criteria that should apply. Or, in other words...

I'd say my reputation on this board disagrees with you.

Where others take aim at #1, Screeling shoots for #2.

Clearly, you're right. Minority movements have never influenced policy in this country at any point.

Technically they are not a race based movement, and thus they are not a minority... didnt you get the memo about white people not being minorities? sheesh went out about 20 years ago =P
