...to remember not to call someone who you know works nights when they are trying to sleep!!!
I've tried everything. I've been nice, I've been cranky, I've been logical. I've said over and over and over not to call me until after 3PM no matter what day it is. I don't care if you wake me up an hour or so before I naturally wake up between 4 and 5PM. I can deal with that. But people who know better still call me when they know I've only been asleep for an hour or less. Or, they say they never know when to call me, so they just don't.
I don't have a problem with things like doctors offices and the like calling me during the day. It's par for the course, part of dealing with a business world that overwhelmingly operates 12 hours or so out of synch with me. But so many people who know me personally all know better, but I can't get it through some of their heads.
And I won't turn off the phone while I sleep. I've missed important stuff because I've done this in the past. Not being able to say goodbye to my grandmother while she was still alive is a huge factor in this.
This message brought to you by my mother, who called to let me know about my nephew's birthday party. At 10 AM, one half hour after I went to bed. The party's at 10 AM on Sunday.
Four days ago, we had the discussion about when its OK to call me for the eleventy-billionth time
again, and I mentioned that I've been having problems lately with getting back to sleep if I've been woken up.
It's 90+ degrees out, and I'm gonna go warm up another glass of milk. /sigh
