J. Crew and Tommy Bahama are very pricey. Their shirts are nice, especially for someone who sweats a lot like me, but there has to be a cheaper brand that has the same thing. I like the lightweight cotton or cotton-linen blend button downs that can just be worn around and I need some more as I gained too much weight to fit into my old clothes.

No ridiculous patterns, solids preferred but any mute colors are fine by me. White is the best must be long sleeve. What do the Glade members in warmer climates resort to?

I like Express clothing. It's worked out well. Gap and Old Navy also have some nice cheap options. You can also try out discount stores. For instance, in my area Century 21 will have higher end brands for a reduced cost. The weakness is that what they have out is all they have.

Sam is right on...a shirt like that (usually a very light-weight breathable cotton) can go with cargo shorts and sandals for casual or with khakis for work.
There are some sports shirts that the golfers wear down here that are made of this unbelievably breathable fabric that all the guys swear makes everything seem cooler. I don't know what it is, but the wal-mart knock-off is some sort of polyester.

Ienan, I own nearly every color and pattern Express has made their 1MX tailored shirt in, just because they fit my build perfectly.

LK, either way it can be work or casual. My work dress code is a collared shirt and jeans, so most things are acceptable.

Anywho, I guess I'll have to visit the J. Crew outlets or something. I need to get stocked up for summer.

Anyone ever been to a nudist colony/community? I've always thought that would be super cool. Maybe a nude beach.
Seriously, I wish we as a society were more lax about clothing and didn't see all nudity as a sexual thing.
Sometimes its just about being free and letting it all hang out.

Yeah. I love those 1MX shirts. Express tends to fit me very well, too. They have more summery cotton options now, though. Nice pastel colors are in, too. Just checked actually. Generally, you just have to do some digging and trying on through various stores (like in a big mall), both high-end and low-end, and you'll find a good mix of shirts. That's what I did for jeans not too long. I wanted a precise color (dark indigo) and something that fit well. I found out my two best brands were Lucky Brand Jeans and Armani Exchange. I want with the AE in the end, even though they cost a bit more because they were exactly what I was looking for.

Yes, and what is most important to realize about those places is that nudists come in all sizes, including morbidly obese, and all ages up to and including people in their 80s.

Lifestyle nudists tend to be very pleasant people who just happen to not need clothing to feel comfortable, some feel uncomfortable wearing clothing just to go to the store for supplies (highly recommended).

If you're comfortable with nudity, and I am mostly, nudist colonies and beaches also tend to be places that staring is very rude, be it in shock or awe. It has been a long time since I've been to one, over twenty years, my wife would never have gone to one and I've never gotten back into the habit.

Also, it's considered very impolite to have an erection in public, and a lot of 'naturalist' areas request that pubic hair be only minimally trimmed to keep adult women looking like adults. I've seen women asked to put on bottoms because they were too bare. I've also seen men asked to leave because they were either staring or not controling their responses.

I've been to a few of the various permutations - nude beaches, resorts etc. It's easy enough to just remember it is a polite society, and whatever is considered impolite in a polite society is impolite there as well. Staring at people, or walking around with a hard-on isn't considered polite anywhere I've been, so I've always chuckled at the thought of people needing to be reminded of that when at these places.


I've not run into this, but it makes me boggle that among naturists*, who stand for the concept of personal liberty, i.e. that people can't tell them that they must wear clothes, and that being nude isn't sexual on its face, believe they can tell people what to do with their body hair. /shrug

*I'm assuming that you mean "naturist".

Same thing I always wear. T-shirt and jeans, boots. Occasionally throwing in a polo.

Jeans and a t-shirt is my year-round wardrobe in sunny San Diego.

When it gets really hot, I'll wear sandals. Maybe shorts.

They are pricey at 20 bucks a pop, but oh so soft and comfortable. I also like Banana Republic stuff but again pricey =/... so I hit the outlet when I go down to N Carolina on vacation heh. Can get some good stuff cheap! Well, cheaper.

Wear them with shorts for casual and can be dressier for the office. They are light weight and no iron, wash them dry them and hang them up and good to go. If you have an Eddie Bauer outlet nearby you can get them pretty cheap too.
