For anyone that likes the whole film noir, psychological type games (like Indigo Prophecy), this one might be worth checking out for PS3 owners.

Getting good reviews, too: Link

Official Site

Supposedly there are upwards of 20 different endings, each playthrough taking roughly 10 hours.

The emphasis seems to be on how even the smallest game decisions can gravely affect the outcome. Definitly anticipating this one.

Yeah, I remember seeing something about this a year ago or so. I'm somewhat interested, as I think that the branching plot progression is a storytelling mechanic unique to gaming that should be explored more often. Wing Commander is the last thing I can think of that really dove heavily into it, though parts of Deus Ex tried to approach it (but was generally a bit too simplistic, IMO, and lacked the subtlety of Wing Commander's branching).

I've been paying attention to this game. This is one of the leading reasons that will lead to me buying a PS3.(GoW 3 & MAG are also helping.)

The other day I saw a long bit of game play of a woman alone in her apartment, just doing normal things. Took a shower, went to the bathroom, but the suspense really started to build, and by the end of it, watching how you have to control the action or what not as the scene played out was really entertaining. I ended the video really wanting to know what happened next.

It's not very often that a video game offers that. For me anyways.

Dammit, wish I had a PS3. Ever since I was first forced to watch Citizen Kane, I've been enamored with noir.

Yup, this plus GoW3 finally pushed me over the edge (not to mention I'd been dropping the blu-ray player hint for a bit). Looking forward to this one.

Interesting little tech demo (made for a Japanese show, so the speech/subtitles will be in Japanese):

Neat little touch...the game comes with a piece of origami type paper, and while installing prompts you for how to make the little origami figure.

That said, the game certainly won't be for everyone...it has a pretty slow pace especially at the beginning.

But already I've had a couple of "heart in my throat" kinda moments, and not because of cheap "Boo!" scares, but from the tension just being ratcheted up. I'm *loving* this game.

Downloaded the demo a few days ago, haven't gotten around to firing it up yet.

Just beat it. Was one of those things I couldn't just put down and ended up marathoning it lol. After a break to let it sink in, I intend to go back and do some things differently for the various endings.

I can't tell if the movement controlls are squodgy, or whether it's my hate for the PS3 controller interfering. Also, seriously -- so far it's a huge downer of a plot.

My wife's been playing it off and on, not enjoying it though. I have watched her play a bit, definitely not for me...

I watched Kaffis' brother bumble through this game the other day. Not the game's fault, I just honestly think he was built for games where you go in straight lines and don't have to find your away around maps.

He's good at racing games, for example. And Half-life, that's pretty linear.

No offense there, Kaffis. I just think he's got no direction sense or something.

Lol. None taken. You should see him try to read a map; I clearly got all the ranger genes.

I need to log some more time; I feel like the pacing is set to pick up any time now (and it'll be welcome; while the down-to-earth, interact-with-the-kids is clearly meant to pull the heartstrings, and it does with varying degrees of success, but I just finished the police interview and it needs to pick up soon...).

I also marathoned this, emotionally sucked me in like very few games have before. Excellent story. Recommended for anyone who wants to see "the original" before all the copycats hit.

The fight scenes in this game are pretty **** intense. I accidentally shot an innocent man because I was so on-edge.

My wife just could not get into it, and from watching her play I had no desire to give it a go myself. We traded it in and got an extra 50% on the trade due to some Game Stop deal. The guy looked at us like we were nuts, but we picked up FFXIII and Infamous.

Heh, my wife is loving Infamous, she wasn't sure about it in the store, but then she started playing...
