Elemental is sucky until you get flame shock and lava burst. Go enhance till you have those spells. Feral is much easier than boom, but boom is fun in groups.

Anything I should know about leveling the critters? Rogue is currently combat (although I have been toying with the idea of going subtlety), Druid is Feral, Shaman Enh. I will probably switch to Boomkin/Elemental once I hit Outlands, as I've never played around with casters all that much.

My main is an Enh Shaman. Definately the easiest leveling spec. For quests, it's pretty much an energizer bunny. Go completely up the Enh tree to start, and get to the wolves as fast as you can. From there you can fill out anything else you want, then go into the Elemental tree to help your spells.

The key to Enh Shaman DPS is SLOW 1h weapons. Both mainhand and offhand should be as slow as you can get. 2.6 or slower is ideal. Put windfury on both. Put flametongue on the offhand once you get spec'd up in the Elemental tree. Here's my current build, which you can use for a guide. It's pretty boilerplate.

Yeah. I figure with a rogue, feral is kinda more of the same. So I want to do something a bit different, and caster gear kinda sucks til OL. Would be nice to dual spec Resto and do the ranged DPS/healing thing, too.

They aren't leveling particularly fast, mostly because I only level with rest EXP at the moment.

Thanks for the tips, Aizle. I've enjoyed Enh to 42, it seems to have no downtime to speak of!

For leveling a rogue - get the best weapon you can, slow main hand, fast offhand. If its daggers, pick between Sub and assasin. If its anything else, go combat.

Kill Stuff.

Do Quests.

End of Guide :D

Did Paladin Seals used to last only 30 seconds? I'm reading some older guides and they keep refering to 30 second seals which need to be re-applied. I'm assuming that changed since mine are 30 minutes.

I've been using seal of command, seemed like the best choice I have at lvl 37

Many also suggest I use the Blessing of Wisdom, I assume to keep mana up. I've been using Blessing of Might to kill quickly. Any advice there? Maybe Blessing of Kings is better?

During the Burning Crusade, seals lasted 20 (I think) seconds, and Judging one consumed the seal. So you needed to recast your seal every 20 seconds. I had a macro that would judge and reseal together.

In 3.0, they changed seals to last 2 minutes and not be consumed. They also changed Judgement to be 3 spells instead of 1. Then later on during the WotLK expansion, they increased seal duration up to the current 30 minutes.

If you find yourself often low on mana, try swapping to either Seal of Wisdom or Judgement of Wisdom (as opposed to Judgement of Light) to get it back up.

Do you have your Glyph of Seal of Command? That will help your mana a lot.

Generally, you will want to swap between Blessing of Might, and Blessing of Kings. Kings will give you less AP, but will give you a bit more survivability.

As a general rule, you will be using Blessing of Might.

Ok sounds good. I'm using Seal of Command, no Glyph. How do I get a Glyph by the way, buy it on the AH?

I use the judgements as needed. wisdom if my mana is low or uhh... whatever the one that heals you if my health is low. I'm killing plenty fast I was just curious where the 30 seconds thing came from.

Buy it on the AH. Or, since you said you had some 80 friends, they might be inscriptors/know one.

Once you get Judgments of the Wise, mana won't be much of an issue. Also, Divine Plea at 80 helps a great deal. Life and Wisdom are nice judgements. Justice is for PvP. Seal of Justice is flipping useless. Seal of Light and Seal of Wisdom can be nice in a pinch when soloing.

Dash:

You can make a nice macro for Judgement of Light/Judgement of Wisdom, I use it a lot:

Quote:
#showtooltip
/cast [nomod] Judgement of Light; [mod:shift] Judgement of Wisdom

You can replace the mod:shift part with mod:alt or just a general mod if you prefer.

Basically, this normally casts judgement of light when you hit it, but when you hit the shift key, it casts judgement of wisdom.

And yeah, I find wisdom to be a non-issue for me unless I'm having to heal a lot on the side (heavy AE damage the healer can't keep up with).

My other favorite macro is one that I have on my 4th mouse button- it casts Flash of Light normally, Holy Light with a shift modifier, and Cleanse with an alt modifier, all set to cast on my target it friendly, me if not, and also to cast on mouseover if I am on a friendly target. It is my favorite macro! I'll post it when I get home tonight, I don't remember all the complexities offhand.

I'm leveling an Enhance Shaman now and I must be doing something wrong because he's exteremely weak. I can take like 1 or 2 mobs before I need to drink, and if I happen to pull 2 mobs at once I'm toast unless I'm at full hp / mana. He's only lvl 20 though, do I just need to wait ab it more for some talents?

Level 41 now. Got Plate mail unlocked, my faster horse and a friend just ran me through Uldaman to get a Stoneslayer

http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9418

I am happy =)

Let me just say this, the game is much better now. I am leveling at a good pace. I actually look cool already and the addition of a mount at 20 was huge. Good work.

I actually found leveling the Enh shaman so painful, that I used level grants from an RaF account to boost him to 40. Been fun since then, but before? Not so much.

QFT.

I did the same thing. Got pally/rog to 60, and boosted the shammy to 58 :)

i just started playing WoW recently, and have a 34 Draenei Pally.

Enjoying it more than when I first tried it, and it's a nice balance to the high end raiding schedule of EQ2.

Brewfest tomorrow...second to last Holiday I need for my Violet mount :)

I've got about 4 or 5 hours tomorrow to knock out as many achievements as possible before I head overseas till Friday, and then I'll be up north at a friend's place till the following Monday. At least after then Brwfest runs till the weekend, so I have a couple days to catch up on anything I missed. Can't miss out on the Drake at this point, put to much effort into it hehe.

Good luck everyone!

Remember to save up 350 brewfest tokens before you buy anything. Here's how it works:

- Get 350 Tokens
- Buy Hat, Shirt, Shoes
- Dance hammered in Dalaran for achievement
- Sell back the 3 clothing items within 2 hours of buying
- Buy brew of the month letter for 200

Saves you a few days worth of dailies and can hopefully ensure that drake for ya.

After this is done, all I have is [G.N.E.R.D. Rage] and [Sinister Calling] for my drake. I got screwed on the helm/pet last Halloween and so never bothered doing the PVP achievement.

Dinged 50 last night before bed. Once again I am compelled to say leveling is so much better this time around for me. Not sure if it's the class or changes they've made.

Newbie question of the day: What's the deal with Brewfest now? Anyone have a link to a general rundown of what I would do there, how long it would take to do it and what the reward would be?

Ah good to know, thanks for the tip. I'm going to miss about 5 days worth of dailies so I hope thats still enough to get the stuff.

Elessar, if you get good at riding a ram that's where most of your tokens are going to come from daily. You can ride a ram twice (the keg delivery quest) and if you know the route and where to get apples, which take away fatigue, you can net 16-20 tokens per run.

Other dailies will only net you 25 total.

Dash,
http://www.wowwiki.com/Brewfest

Most people run around doing all of the holiday achievements, because if you accomplish all of them through a whole year, you are rewarded with a Violet Proto Drake. Achievements were added right after the last Brewfest ended, so this is the last holiday many people need. Other than that, you usually only get pets/clothes from holiday events.

I just resubbed my account to get my proto-drake, then I'll probably let it expire until the next expansion unless icecrown turns out really awesome.

I apparently got booted from my guild even though I told them I was going to take a short break and they said it was fine. That's basically the reason I'm going to let my account expire again.

I had a 67 try to come along to snag a chance at the kodo.

I said 'No way' and was a dick about it because I view 15% below the level cap and not having a summon as too much of an imposition on the group to tolerate.

The tank had no summon but I said 'I can make up for that' with my alt and my wife's unused hunter and would have done so had he not DC'd due to lag, which is I guess how his summon was used the first time.

In the end, we got a new tank, used 6 summons, and while no mount dropped, I didn't feel like I was helping someone who didn't deserve to ask to come.

Also, because I missed how the prices for Alliance/Horde mounts dropped in recent patches, I was surprised when I clicked on the elekk vendor while doing the pink elekk quest.

So Phaedraz has 51 mounts now, including the ram from last year. It's not as thrilling as it ought to be, I guess.

Really?

I love my albino drake!

I'm slowly working my way to 100 for the dragonhawk.

I really think they should have made something more impressive for the 100 mount, though- something about the size compared to the drakes makes me feel like I'm downgrading.
