Mako isn't horrible...it's just incredibly boring. Even more than planet scanning. At least I can get more than enough minerals for anything I'll need in ME2 by planet scanning in about an hour rather than driving around 4 or 5 generic planets in ME1 with the Mako in that same time frame.

Even if you hate scanning planets, you have to go to the Sol system and scan Uranus. Seriously. Nice easter egg there.

EDI (Tricia Helfer) even asks if you are sure you want to do this.

I felt this way about ME1, actually.

Oh THAT'S who's EDI. I was wondering why every time she talked I... never mind. Thought I recognized that voice! :)

Yep! :)

Spoiler:
When you go to scan Uranus, she says, "Really...Commander?" then when you launch a probe again, she sighs heavily and says "Probing Uranus" in a very condescending tone. It's great!

The mako itself was a neat little vehicle, but every one of those little mako maze planets was a steaming pile of dogshit. Here we have a rover that's supposed to be able to navigate a wide range of obstacles, and what happens when you touch down on the planet? Everywhere you look there's **** you can't get over. So you have to go looking for some bullshit path between this ridge and that hill to get around to whatever thing you want to scan.

I'd agree with this. The mako itself wasn't a problem, the planet design was. Specially those few planets that were almost completely mountain peaks, those were a complete ***** to get around in.

I'm just baffled why an organization that has FTL, ships cloaking, personal shields, can't build something more advanced than 20th century APC.

Just finished ME2 last night. Loved it, just a great game from end to end.

Also, here's a quote from one of the guys at the game store that cracked me up. I think bioware might be jabbin the naysayers a bit...

Quote:
I wish they still made role playing games like they used to. These days it's all big choices and visceral combat. I miss those old games, when you had to remember to drink water, and it took 5 hours real time to fly somewhere!

Kasumi DLC is coming out in April. This will be the first paid DLC released for the game. She won't offer much more than Zaeed, however(same conversation interaction as Zaeed). Instead of a new heavy weapon, the DLC will have a SMG instead. I am very disappointed that something like this is going to cost money. Zaeed sucks. His mission sucks, the heavy weapon that comes with him sucks, and his loyalty power sucks. Kasumi probably won't be very different in this regard. Sad, really.

That is too bad. I don't think I took Zaeed on a single mission other than his loyalty.

Zaeed could have been good. But they put zero effort into him outside his loyalty mission. You can't even have a proper conversation with him in his room on the Normandy. Kasumi has already been confirmed to be the same in that regard. Plus, from the news report on Illium about Kasumi, I wouldn't be surprised if she had AI Hacking, the most useless skill in Mass Effect 2.

Lol epic:
Spoiler:

RUDIMENTARY CREATURE KNOWN AS CAVEMANTOM,

:I CARE NOT FOR SPOILING ANY EVENT FOR SUCH INFERIOR BEINGS:

IN OUR FIRST ENCOUNTER - MASS EFFECT 1 - THE EVENTS ON VIRMIRE AND BEYOND EXCEED ANY STRING OF EVENTS IN MASS EFFECT 2.

THE DECISIONS MADE ON VIRMIRE - RANGING FROM DECIDING THE FATE OF THE PATHETIC KROGAN TO CHOOSING THE FATE OF YOUR OTHER HUMAN COMPANIONS (ALTHOUGH ALL OF YOU WILL DIE SOON ENOUGH) - MADE THAT PARTICULAR LEVEL UTTERLY ENGAGING.

SIMILAR CHOICES AND EVENTS DID NOT CULMINATE IN MASS EFFECT 2 UNTIL THE FINAL MISSION.

PLUS, MY INTRODUCTION WAS SECOND TO NONE; SHAKING THE VERY FOUNDATION OF YOUR EXISTENCE, RIDDLING YOU WITH FEAR -- ALL FAR MORE EXCITING THAN HARBINGER PLAYING PUPPET MASTER WITH HIS LITTLE INCOMPETENT BEE CREATURES - ONE CAN NEVER DEPEND ON ORGANICS. I TOLD HIM THIS OVER LUNCH. 'THE GETH', I SAID. 'EXPLOIT THE GETH'. HE REFUSED. BUT DIGRESS...

ILOS AND SEEING THE DESTRUCTION OF 'YOUR' BELOVED CITADEL WERE ALSO KEY EMOTIONAL MOMENTS THAT RARELY EXSITED IN MASS EFFECT 2 - DECIDING THE FATE OF THE COUNCIL WAS TRULY GRIPPING - THOUGH CURSE THAT 'VIGIL' PROGRAM FOR DELAYING OUR INEVITABLE RETURN.

i HAVE SPOKEN. YOUR FATE IS SEALED. THE CYCLE CANNOT BE BROKEN.

Well, I'd love to be able to start this game, but I can't add points to download the Cerberus Network stuff because it keeps saying I cannot connect to LIVE (via the Account Management option), even though my profile is *drumroll* currently signed in to Xbox Live.

/sigh

If you bought the game new, you get the Cerberus Network for free.

Well, I tried that too, but when it goes to connect to the EA site thing, it says "Error -- Cannot connect at this time. Try again later." Or something like that.

Besides, not being able to get into my XBL account worries me, because I need to update my credit card information.

I really don't get it -- my profile signs in just fine, I can even get into and browse the Marketplace. But anything beyond that I cannot connect.

EDIT: Ah, the old girl's up and running now.

I've actively avoided reading this thread for spoiler reasons, so my apologies if these two questions have been answered previously:

1.) What are the pros and cons to importing your decked out ME1 character?

2.) Does importing your ME1 character also automatically carry over your love interest, or is that a choice made later?

I found this site pretty helpful. I've only played about 4 hours of it and that site hasn't spoiled anything.

2.) Yes your love interest from ME1 carries over, to an extent. You're not allowed to continue it, for various plot reasons, but it's still there. Also, supposedly, if you had a romance in ME1, and chose to pursue a different romance in ME2, that could have a negative impact on your ME3 game.

1.) If you don't import a save, you can create a Shepard from scratch, but it assumes you made all the Renegade decisions in ME1, and pretty much assumes you're a dick.

Actually I played it straight in ME1. Thing about BioWare games is that when you go evil, you really feel like you've collectively kicked the entire world's puppy.
