Was in Kingman for my weekend with Lisa and the kids. on Monday we decided to go to the antique stores.

I am certainly glad I did. I found a 1970 Gillete Superspeed Silvertip razor for 20 bucks.

It was tarnished and very obviously well used. I put several hours into cleaning and restoring this thing, and it was made to look like new. I then boiled some water and threw this thing in for half an hour.

I now have it sitting in rubbing alcohol for the next 24 hours. Once this passes I have a great vintage restored safety razor.

What's not neat?

If you're into razors, sure, that's kinda cool. Funny thing it, it just occurred to me recently that for the longest time growing up, I had my grandfather's old razor in my toy box. Thing had to be from the early 50s, at the latest (since he died in '54). Man, I'll bet there are a few razor afficionados who'd like to have that in their collection about now ...
