So anyway... DE do you think it is a problem that the Mexican Army has been launching incursions into the United States?

Definitions of the word "incursion" in a military sense suggest an attack or invasion. I don't think there's enough evidence in the helicopter incident to support that assertion. Other incidents I've read about pretty much are clear that Mexican military personnel are being hired by drug runners and immigrant smugglers, not national sanctioned acts.

Agreed they are acting at the behest of drug runners. But that does not change the fact that the Mexican Army is operating Mexican Army equipment within the United States. I was pondering this and if it were Canadian solidiers doing this (yeah I know that would leave only 2 to keep an eye on the Moose) would I have a problem with it?

That depends entirely on what you mean by "incursion". I'm not sure I accept that they are, except in the strictest sense of the word, but "incursion" carries connotations of deliberate action at levels above the unit actually doing so.

Is it a problem that they are violating the border? Yes. However, at the moment the most profitable way to handle it is through diplomacy. If they actually harm someone or damage property or capture people, then it will be time to take action. Until then, however, it makes us look better and costs us less money to exercise patience. Everyone knows Mexico has no real hope of defending itself against the U.S., much less attacking us.

It didn't indicate it was an organized military operation, the article stated that it was unclear what reason they were there, and offered the possibility it was smugglers.

I'm thinking something like this would be considered a police matter unless evidence proves otherwise.
