So, anyone else think Sawyer might already be dead. We have not seen him in two weeks.

Naw. He is too big of a character to go out like that. I think they have to show everyone else and leave him out for a bit so the show doesn't start becoming all about Sawyer...he does tend to steal the spotlight.

Funny, I always thought Kate and Juliette and Claire and that chick that was buried alive and Libby tended to steal the spotlight.

Linus chose her over the principal spot, good over power. I can't believe I feel sorry for the little bastard!

Ben is...someone I have never liked yet they do **** like that. To make you feel for him. He is an *******. Cold blooded and they still find a way to make you feel for him.

Spoiler:
And that's why it works, he's so cold blooded, and yet he didn't make the cold blooded move that everyone expected. He could've totally just torpedoed and moved on with acceptable casualties, but he went the other way, in both the school and the island (by not going back to locke).

Spoiler:
Yeah, but he still killed Locke and he killed Jacob. I'm really P.O.ed that he killed Locke. I liked him. Ben is a douche. I don't know where they plan on going with him choosing relationships over power. I think it just puts him in another position to kill someone else. Or is he supposed to represent the "Repentant Sinner?"

I was rather disappointed (a relative term...I still enjoyed it) with last nights episode. It's sole purpose seemed to be to set things up for later...which is fine, but the other episodes this season all seemed to have a bit more payoff than this one.

Yup, that episode was awesome. I'm betting Kate liked it, with her Sawyer love. :)

OK...I had come to assume that Widmore was on the Man in Black's side, but perhaps he's just in it for himself? Or maybe frightened that he'll be doublecrossed. Oh, and Charlotte went from cute to smokin'!

Spoiler:
Charlotte def ramped up in sex appeal. Think it was because she was with sexy Sawyer instead of mousey Faraday.
I read somewhere that one of the theories is that Whidmore represents humanity in this mix of good and evil and that he is just in it to try and gain control of the island so he can exploit it. If thats true than it puts a 3rd player in the mix instead of him being a part of one team or the other. And what is up Clair?? Is she un-evil now? She tried to kill Kate and Sayid didn't do a thing! Its like he is a zombie.

My wife gets credit for this...popped right into her head after we watched tonights episode.

Revelation 9:1-2

And the fifth angel blew his trumpet, and I saw a star fallen from heaven to earth, and he was given the key of the shaft of the bottomless pit; he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened with the smoke from the shaft.

Spoiler:
Hebrew tradition held that the Temple was built over the "bottomless pit"...the gateway to Satan's prison. The Dome of the Rock, built on the Temple site, also has a similar tradition to the Muslims. In both cases tradition holds that the foundation stone holds evil in. Perhaps the foundation stone can move in time and space, but still serves the same purpose?

I knew he came on that boat...granted. I didn't see it like that.

I still think the island is the garden of eden.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that scene.

Things I still want answered before the finale:

What are the numbers, their significance, and where did they come from?

What's going on with Walt, what was his significance?

What we have on the numbers so far: (garnered this from another site)
Spoiler:
Quote:
Each of the mythical LOST numbers represents one of the chosen six who may replace Jacob as the protector of the island.

#4: John Locke, claimed by Jacob after taking a dive out the window
#8: Hugo "Hurley" Reyes, claimed by Jacob in the backseat of a car
#15: James "Sawyer" Ford, claimed by Jacob at his father's funeral
#16: Sayid Jarrah, claimed by Jacob right before Nadia got smacked by a car
#23: Jack Shepard, claimed by Jacob at a vending machine (glamorous no?)
#42: "Kwon," claimed by Jacob at their wedding (which one? Sun or Jin?)
So now two of the biggest mysteries surrounding LOST have been revealed. It's a bit surprising that Kate wasn't on "the list" but maybe her sole purpose was to raise Aaron.

I would like to know about Walt too. He was able to do stuff. Then he just disappeared. That was never really answered.

Also, this is my take on it and my major questions after last night's episode:
Spoiler:
Richard was told to kill Jacob, but had to stab him before he uttered a word. When Sayid tried to kill Flocke (fake Locke), he waited until after Flocke had said hi and the stabbing didn't kill him. Last night, Jacob immediately attacked Richard to get the knife from him and spoke so he couldn't die. Why then did Jacob not speak when Ben was going to stab him? Jacob could easily have said "hi" or any other word and then not been able to be killed, so why didn't he? It's like the biblical reference where Jesus could have called upon legions of angels to save him...but he didn't. Jesus chose to be murdered. Does this mean there is some greater purpose to Jacob's death?

I forgot those were the numbers next to their names in the cave and in the lighthouse weren't they?

Yup, those were the numbers next to their names.

Spoiler:
I also agree that Jacob had to sacrifice himself on purpose. He's too powerful to just die after all those attempts throughout the years. The question is still why? My theory is that the "next Jacob" couldn't rise up and come into his own with Jacob still walking around.

You are correct sir.

Spoiler:
It is going to be Hugo. Sawyer will take the place of the smoke monster. They will spent the rest of their days playing Ping Pong
