Also, this is my take on it and my major questions after last night's episode:
Spoiler:
Richard was told to kill Jacob, but had to stab him before he uttered a word. When Sayid tried to kill Flocke (fake Locke), he waited until after Flocke had said hi and the stabbing didn't kill him. Last night, Jacob immediately attacked Richard to get the knife from him and spoke so he couldn't die. Why then did Jacob not speak when Ben was going to stab him? Jacob could easily have said "hi" or any other word and then not been able to be killed, so why didn't he? It's like the biblical reference where Jesus could have called upon legions of angels to save him...but he didn't. Jesus chose to be murdered. Does this mean there is some greater purpose to Jacob's death?

Spoiler:
Actually, I think Jacob did speak before Ben stabbed him. Ben said, "What about me?" and Jacob replied, "What about you?" It was at that point that Ben said, "I see," and stabbed him.

Ah, I had forgotten about that part. That makes it even more interesting...and confusing.

Spoiler:
I say that just lends even more reinforcement to the "Jacob allowed himself to be killed" theory. It will be awesome if Hugo is the next island keeper though. Such a great character.

Spoiler:
Yeah, that makes sense. And yeah, Hugo would make a great island keeper. I was so hoping that the real Locke would have...I'm still mad that he's dead. And still mad that Charlie is dead too. I liked him.
Anyone wondering what Kate's role is in all of this? She is not a contender for Jacob's replacement but she was hand-picked by him...for what?

Spoiler:
Read this theory somewhere: The show ends with Jack and Sawyer sitting on the beach, fish cooking next to them over a campfire. Sawyer turns to Jack and says the "I want to kill you" bit.

I don't think Sawyer is that evil, but it does have a nice symmetry to it.

Yeah he was getting better! I really liked the episode where they played Shambala on the 8 track in the van and him and Hurley went down the hill facing potential death. My favorite scene by far.

This is the one show I don't want any spoilers for. That takes all the fun out of it.

Agreed. I've gone this long without spoiling anything and watching all the episodes. I'm seeing it through!

I haven't watched in ages, but saw this in an email from Think Geek, and just had to share it here.

I didn't care for Desmond's story at all, except for the allusion to the timelines being tied together somehow.

I disagree. Talked with LK after the episode about Desmond and it seems the episodes that focus on him always seem to be really good. The one where he had to "find his anchor" and he called Penny on the phone is one of my favorite of all time with the show.

My opinion of course. I just like what they do with him and he sells it every time.

Ok what the heck was up with the ending to last night's episode? And what the heck is wrong with Sayyid? He's turning into a zombie or a robot or something.

Spoiler:
Yup, ever since he died and was brought back, he seems like he's just a minion of the black smoke. The ending was awesome, wasn't expecting that one, was waiting for Desmond to drive up and talk to Locke. So I'm wondering how they're going to deal with the alternate reality that has been created with the plane actually making it's flight. Will it collapse once the island is resolved? It's obvious that it's starting to severely affect everyone that should have been in that crash. I'm with Raell in not wanting the show to end, but ironically it's the fact that it's ending that's made it so amazing this season. One reason I like anime shows written in their entirety before production begins, it seems to make for a much tighter experience.

Regardless, the show is GREAT right now.
