/sigh

/facepalm

I'm really starting to hate that guy. Before I was just apathetic, kinda "meh". Now... its starting to actively become hatred.

Probably stemming in part from bias, but that scripted routine seemed like a poor imitation of Bill Cosby. I will say though, he has gotten much better about reading the teleprompter in shorter glances.

Convenient that all the stuff we should wait for occurs after an election. I'll pass.

Obama is feeding sheep what they want to hear. He knows the taxation doesn't start instantly and he knows some of the mandates don't start for 4 years. He is simply stating a tautology to an ignorant audience that was hand selected to clap for his ego's sake and propaganda value.

What a great speech, and of course he was a magnificent speaker. Thank you Elmarnieh.

That was a brilliant speech, and interestingly enough, if you change some of the words around...

It could be wholly valid today.

Which is kind of an argument against the validity of what Reagan was saying then. After all, it's been 40 years since his dire warnings, and our nation has survived just fine thanks.

That same sentiment could be extended to any number of things done in the name of solving a crisis... see obamacare.

Brilliant and Moving Speech Elmo.

Reagan is probably the last good president we have had. This cock-jockey in office now just needs to be removed from office and beaten with a platoon worth of socks filled with bars of Ivory Soap.

RD your bias is showing again.

On the contrary if the situations were handled in his day we would never be in the crisis in multiple fronts that we are in today. They knew the increasing debt and spending and taxation and control were bad back then and warned of what it would bring, and it has brought exactly what they warned of.

Just wait till the corporate forclosures begin RD. Look around and see how many shops are "for rent", wait until that hits with increased inflation effects - oh and have you noticed oil prices over the last three weeks? And our job report shows growth (if we include temporary government created jobs like census) good news everyone, unemployment is the same, jobless has grown but government spending has increased while productivity is unchanged!

The president is being the head cheerleader of a philosophy that led him to be elected.

Blaming him for his behavior, it seems to me, should only be done by those folks who can rightfully claim the moral superiority to do so.

Adopting the same behavior as a counterpoint to his seems to legitimize his, in my opinion.

If someone can't respect the man, their respect for the office should cause them to hold their tongue less they weaken the very position they seek to support.

If you say so.

We had 12 years of Reagan/Bush in the middle of all that, and some of the policies got turned around a bit. THen 8 of Clinton were balanced by 8 of W... and now we have another Carter in office.

One can only hope we get another Reagan after this current disaster.

Although, the problem lies more in Congress than the Executive really.

So you think nothing has changed since that Administration? Really?

Damn...

Ronald Reagan would make a better President in his current condition than this assclown we have now.

Because obviously since Regan used deficit spending when wehad a much smaller debt to cripple the Soviet Union, he'd necessarily spend in the same proportions now with a much larger debt and no Soviet Union.
