This, very much this. I am trying to go through an evil game in ME1 so I can replay ME2; some of these choices make me feel like a real dick.

Don't worry. Sometimes in ME2 you're a dick even if you aren't trying to be :p

Shepard is just that badass.

Spoiler:
There's a part on Tauchanka where there's this dude ranting on ledge above you. But it just so happens there is a gas tank below him. So, while the guy is ranting, you can renegade interrupt to shoot the gas tank. Even on my renegade playthrough, I had to reload after doing that interrupt and not do it. Jesus **** Christ...the scream of pain made me feel so bad.

Still, I'd recommend playing full renegade just for the interrupts. Some really classic renegade interrupts during Grunt's loyalty mission and Miranda's loyalty mission.

Just got the new Normandy and am exploring that.

I can feel this game's hooks sinking in already.

One thing I am kinda confused about -- I will go through a dialogue wheel on what I consider to be a pretty Paragon-esque path, and I'll get slapped with Renegade points. I wonder what their criteria is -- or is it like Lenas says, and there are some hits you just gotta take.

the paragon answers are always in the same place when present. The renegade are always in the same place when present.

Yeah, beginning to see that. I like the Paragon/Renegade actions, but they are easy to miss.

In fact, that's one gripe I have about the game so far -- pop-up windows disappear so quickly.

They usually last for a few seconds.

It must just be a bug. Some disappear after like 1 second, others last several seconds. I think the previous loading screen sometimes overlaps onto pop-up window time.

Anyway, barely touched the main storyline, and currently clearing out side quests. Great game so far. Shep's puttin' the smooth down on some of the ladies already. Trying to stick true to Ashley (even in absentia), but after seeing some of the new ladies, all I can say is . . .

LOL @ the flirting in this game.

Shep (activating his Barry White Bio-Tech): "Don't worry, I won't let him touch you."

Kelly (with all the subtly of a nuclear explosion): "If there's any touching involved, I'll make sure it's with you."

Wow . . .

if you have no other romantic involvements in the game, Kelly is an option. You can't 'screw up' her romance thread.

I hear you can get her to do a pole dance. Can you comment on that?

no pole, but yes, she does dance. if no other romance is going on (you've turned down all the others) you can go up to your quarters and invite kelly up

That psych degree is getting put to good use I guess.

Have another romance question:

If you carry over your romance from ME1 (in my case, Ashley), and pursue a romance to its conclusion involving a secondary romance option (i.e. one that does not give you the Paramour achievement), will it screw up your romance with the ME1 interest?

I checked online but the explanations were not clear on that matter.

Bioware has stated that if you import a romance from ME1 into ME2, and then romance a new crew member, it will have consequences in ME3. Just like in real life. The consequences will not be apparent in ME2, however.

I think the best thing to do is this:

Spoiler:
Romance Ashley before Virmire, leave her to die when the bomb blows. This will leave you free and clear to romance another in ME2 ;)

Yeah, I had heard this, but wasn't sure if they were talking about just one of the main three choices, or one of the three secondary choices as well.

Mus:

Knowing Ashley's character in ME1, I'm pretty sure her ghost would come back and torment me for eternity had I done that :P
