Carl's out here carries the mushroom and swiss occasionally, it seems to rotate through every year for awhile. Same owners, same decor, and when I went through Mississippi last hear, the same menu.

Since I would never eat a burger from either BK or McDonalds, I have to go with the better fries. McDonalds is the clear winner. But **** all other fast food. Wienerschnitzel has every other fast food joint beat ever. I could eat their every day. Carl's Jr.(can't beat their burgers when it comes to fast food chains, unless you count the chili cheese burger from Wienerschnitzel, but the chili makes that burger the best while Carl's is good because the burger is good) comes in at a distant second with Arby's coming in third.

As far as I'm concerned, McDonalds is pretty well at the bottom of the fast-food chain, so I'd have to go with BK. Personally, though, I never frequent either of them. If I'm going to grab a fast-food burger, it'll most likely be from Whataburger, but you won't find those outside of the southern U.S.
The best burgers in Dallas are probably from Balls Hamburgers (go ahead and laugh) over in the Hillcrest area next to SMU.
I don't know, I also have a fondness for Jakes, that's some good stuff. Also, the butcher shop in downtown Plano or Dell's in downtown Richardson are also pretty amazing.

I'd pick McDonald's. They've developed a menu that's become quite a bit healthier. I love the snacks wraps, the apple and walnut combo, etc. Burger King still isn't too friendly when it comes to that. If I wanted a burger, I'd probably go to Burger King, though.

When I lived in Texas, Whataburger was my favorite fast-food burger, hands down.
I loved Whataburger when I was in Tempe/Scottsdale. Right near the corner of Rural and Apache.

I lived in Texas for 3 years but I never actually made it to a Whataburger. I did notice, however, that when Texans say that, it sounds like "Waterburger".

I have to vote for McDonald's, with this one caveat...
only if I'm on a road trip, it's late at night and I'm starving, because there seems to be a McDonald's at every exit along the freeway!
I don't care for either of them, to be honest. If I want fast food (which I don't eat much any more) I'll go to Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, or Wienerschnitzel. For semi-fast food I'll call up High Five Pizza or Round Table Pizza or grab something out of the grocer's freezer to pop into the oven/microwave. All of this stuff has way too much sodium, fat, and calories for me to be eating it now...maybe when I was a kid it was sort of okay, but not now. I do splurge very rarely, but then I need to eat mostly salads and other vegies for a few days to clear out my system.

Yeah, it's odd. That's how they say it in the commercials, though. I don't know how to explain it, since that really isn't how anyone pronounces "what" around here...

Jakes is good, too. I forgot about them. I've never even been to the Angry Dog, though.
Another good place -- in a horribly greasy 1950s burger joint kind of way -- is the old Keller's Drive-In on Harry Hines. I think there's one on NW Highway, too, but I've never been there. Keller's isn't just a burger'n'beer, it's an experience. The patronage is truly the most bizarre cross-section of Dallas that you'll ever see. The reviews of Keller's are always a trip to read:

This place transcends all cultural, age, money, and any other kind of boundary you can think of.
Place your order with sometimes scary (redneck white trash) waitresses, sometimes actually good looking (SMU undergrad on scholarship thousands of miles away from home) waitresses, whatever. Their menu is up on a board. Get out of the car to talk to any of the random "who the ****" lingering around waiting for their food - surprisingly, no matter who it is - they're (mostly) all friendly and have no problem striking up a conversation. If you lack the cajones to b/c you're intimidated, slink back into your car and try to stealthily lock the door until your food is delivered to you.
The food...well, wow. Open up the paper bag already with increasingly growing oil stains and find your burger and fries seeping with grease and oil. No matter, if you're looking to eat healthy, you wouldn't be eating here. The burger and fries are among the best I've had in the Dallas area. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I'm always buzzed everytime I come, perhaps it's the cocaine falling out of the cook's hair in the kitchen, but man, this is great food.
The only other thing I can think of to describe this place? **** yea. Check it out for yourself and form your own opinion.

I managed to live near a McD's with sucktastic fries. Sad Seri is sad.
But if I have to eat there, I go with a Filet 'o Fish.
The BK version is ok. If it's Wendy's, I just get a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and a caesar salad. I used to like the burgers at Roy Rogers, as they were less greasy than most. Hardees wasn't bad.

First, I have no clue where you get that number from Khross. According to McDonald's nutritional labels, the grilled chicken snack wraps hover around 260 (kilo)calories. That's wrap and all. Most 10" wraps with refined flour I know hover around 150-200 (kilo)calories. If you find an example of a 450 (kilo)calorie tortilla, you'll have to tell me which brand it is. My guess is it's quite a bit thicker, perhaps more traditional, than what we use for wraps.
Second, I believe I used the term healthier. And they are. In fact, they hired a chef to create healthier options. Compare what they have to most fast food places and they have quite a few more options than they used to. For the number of times I'd eat McDonald's in a month, the tortilla wrap isn't going to be a problem. Being healthier doesn't mean it's the best option, just that's it a good option when you want some food in a pinch. If you're looking for the healthiest options, you either need to cook for yourself, find a personal chef that will do it for you, or go to a restaurant that uses only fresh ingredients and is geared towards healthy options.
I don't remember; maybe I'm confusing it with the 14" In any case, I was taking issue with the Wrap being "healthier" itself. McDonald's menu has certainly improved; but the whole "Wrap" Craze is rather counter productive.
