I have both Task Killer and Advanced Task Killer, I usually use Task Killer though.

That's what I did as well. Waiting for my sales dude to call me back.

Had a weird problem this morning, my Exchange email kept popping up a Force Quit any time I tried opening any message. I was able to fix it by the following:

1. Make sure the Exchange email client is open.
2. Go to Home -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications.
3. Hit the Menu button, then Filter by running applications.
4. Go into the email client, and hit the Clear Data button. This will completely remove the email setup, so make sure you know the relevant details to reconnect.

Went back to the email client, reconnected, and it is now working again. This was with the default Exchange client, though I have heard about a paid app that is supposed to be really great for Exchange integration.

There's a tool that will do it, it's like 10 bucks or so, I was looking at it for a client actually. Let me look and see if I can remember what it was called.

Edit: haven't played around with it personally, but RoadSync is the app I was thinking of. They also have another utility that will let you open standard MS Office application files.

I picked up a GBA emulator, cost $3.99 on the market. I tried out a FF1/FF2 remake for the GBA, and it's pretty cool. I had to turn off the sound to make the game run smoother, but the G1 is relatively weak hardware compared to newer phones.

There's a pretty sweet Home screen launcher called HelixLauncher. It isn't all slow like Home++ was. It supposedly will handle live wallpapers in Android 2.1 too. I'm digging it so far.

Also, there's an app called Key Ring that allows you to enter/barcode-scan your cards for like grocery stores and stuff. So I have those and my Gamestop card on it. Basically the clerk just needs to scan your phone and you're all set.

Anybody else get the upgrade to Android 2.1 today? That took me by surprise.

Is that what that was?

I just pushed update.

What's new with 2.1?

Right click your desktop and choose wallpaper and check out the live wallpapers. Other minor stuff.

I thought about getting a Motorola. But, it's massive bulk* and it's price were easily enough to put it on the losing side. I am not shackled by the need to use a physical keyboard either, so that was also a factor. I only had to spend 29 bucks for my android. And I've had zero problems with it.

*Seriously... does it really need that extra lip at the bottom? It's already big enough without that. It's like the designers said, "Well, we made it big. How can we make it bigger?" "We could add an extra bit of length to the bottom and make it stick out." "What would the customers use it for?" "Absolutely nothing. It is useless in every way." "Well, it could help catch sand and grit, and get into the slidey keyboard a bit easier." "That's true. Let's do it!"

Anybody here had reason to root their phone? I was seriously thinking about it on Friday so that I could get the 2.1 OS and use live wallpapers. The Sunday update took care of that.

There's another couple annoyances I'd like to get get rid of. Just not sure if I want to root to do it.

Haven't yet, but then again I'm so swamped at work that the last thing I want to do when I get home is any kind of technical work, even on my own stuff. There are lots of articles about doing it though, seems fairly straight forward.

I'm excited to check out the Droid Incredible: cnet review.

It comes out on April 29th and conveniently, we are eligible for phone upgrades on the 30th. I'm still using an Envy2 and really ready to move up to a 3g device.

I saw the Incredible, and I thought about dropping my iPhone/AT&T to pick one up if they'd offer a 2-for-1 deal.

Then I saw the HTC EVO, coming to Sprint, and I realized that'd be a better decision if I were to switch carriers.

Right now I'm stuck in a dilemma. iPhone 4, HTC EVO, or wait for a Windows Phone 7 handset.
