The only thing that bothers me about black jelly beans is that they are not licorice-y enough.

Real licorice is yummy for my tummy. You know, the kind where when you bite into it, the edges look all tan and stuff?

My wife hates it, but I love it.

Still, anything with sugar is stuff for the trough I pig out at. I have no discretion and no ability to stop. I have always depended on the kindness of strangers, at that point.

You would not do well in my house. There's candy all over. It's easiest for me to stay away when I know i can have a little bit at any time and not worry about having to eat it all because there won't be any tomorrow.

If I ate it all there wouldn't be any tomorrow.

Yes, all of you stop to exist when I die.

If you managed to consume the entire confectionery contents of my house the universe might, indeed, implode.

Its when she feels your finger to find out if you've fattened up enough that bothers me.

Are you suggesting that I'm a witch?

Be a darling, would you, and lean into that oven to see if it's hot?

Why would anyone lean into the oven to see if its hot when they can just look at the little light on the front?

She doesn't have one of those ovens, hers is an antique.

Reread Hansel and Gretel.
