mmm a few guildies and I ran the weekly tonight (they were on alts) and on the fight against Noth the Plaguebringer I was at 4876 DPS.

We technically did the 10 man raid, but there were only 7 of us lol.

We did Yogg + 0 on 10's the other day. Very weird fight. Happy to have the achievement though.

VoA actually drops PVE loot?! Craziness!

Good stuffs though. It has been an equally good raiding week so far here. Let's see how Professor goes tonight before I make any hasty judgments overall though. :p I think I have a better healing plan for that fight for myself, so that may be helpful, and hopefully our tank won't run into a Malleable Goo 10 seconds before we would've otherwise won...

This week I also started doing feral kitty as my offspec instead of Moonkin, and I'm already seeing good results. A bit under 9k on Saurfang/Festergut isn't too shabby for a newly minted offspec IMO, especially if I can get rid of this Mirror of Truth and get some actual T10... :p

Speaking of T10 offspec, wouldn't it be nice if VoA dr-- ...oh wait, yeah that never happens!

I got the 251 legs from vault last night, which were a huge upgrade from my t8 pants.

Weapon drops hate me. They're always the last thing I end up upgrading. Everything but my weapons is at least 245+, my weapons are both 232's, one of which I've only had for two weeks. Had the 219 dagger fro H ToC for a long time before that.

It really neuters my dps to have such crappy weapons. I've gotten more drops from vault than I have weapons drops this expansion. I've received at least one of my tier pieces at every level from vault, and have a full pvp set just from running vault. Last festergut we did I pulled 8k, which isn't too shabby for being in gear that averages ilvl 245 I suppose. Though it did put me at about 15th on the meters in my guild.

Yeh, our guild has really shitty luck with weapon drops as well.

Except for rogues. we're swimming in heartpierces and off-hand axes.

A few more Bryntrolls wouldn't go unappreciated ;)

Man. I think I've got... 5 pieces of gear from VoA total, all of them offspec, and 2 of them never used at that. I didn't exactly just start raiding last month or anythingn either. :p For Toravon himself I don't think we've seen more than 1 PVE piece drop each kill, too. Would be nice if that changed, though!

On the other hand, ICC has been quickly making up for my guild's terrible weapon drop luck through most of the expansion. Trinkets, too. We've had Bryntrolls and Deathbringer's Wills go to offspec already, Njorndar bows to alts. Higher-than-the-odds amounts of Traumas, Dislodged Foreign Objects and the tanking trinket from Professor10 man. Daggers have been dropping quite often, too. I suppose our luck hasn't extended to other 1h weapons, but I certainly can't complain.

We actually did really well this week, getting a much faster than ever before Festergut kill and having a pretty easy time with Professor We also nearly killed BQL within our first few real pulls of her. It's almost certain the 10% buff is going to go in next week which should be the final nail in the coffin for Professor and make Queen fairly easy, I should think. It's kind of weird to think about, though... due to our short raid week, we'll be getting the 10% buff on our first pull of Sindragosa25. This seems a bit contradictory to me, as its intended purpose is to push guilds along that need that edge. As I said in an earlier post, I suppose it's welcome so that we can actually clear the place quickly enough to see the end, but it feels a bit like cheating to go into a fight for the first time with it. :p I certainly don't mind it for farm content, but it was our time availability that is the most important factor for our progression and the buff doesn't even really touch on that directly.

Ah well, I'm not one to feel strongly about the buff either way... it just seems weird is all. :p

I want it to be the full 30% already. I'm tired of ICC. H9 that place so far.

Blizz has said, if you wanna play it without the buff, you can always just click it off.

I think you actually have to tell saurfang/whoever-the-alliance-guy is at the beginning that you don't need them, and they leave taking the buff with them.

We've started having some attendance issues, with thursday nights (usual progression night) not being able to field a full 25m. We're currently 9/12, and should be 10/12 but for some reason BQL is just out of our reach. We have people get MC'd basically every time, and it's always the same people, of course. We have two 10 man groups doing 10 man hard modes, though neither has many down yet. My gear is too low to get a spot in one of them, so I'm unfortunately stuck on reserve status for the guild 10 mans.

My spreadsheet shows upgrading my daggers to 264 weapons would be a 10% dps upgrade, so I cross my fingers anytime we do rotface/valithria. No luck yet though. Val hasn't ever dropped her dagger yet, and rotface has only dropped his once, when I wasn't there of course.

Finally beat the Lich King today! Hooray! Only on 10 man, but whew, it still deserves a hooray. :p

Took my guild in the area of 35 attempts over 3 weeks, though we did have some switching around of people from week to week with only about 4-5 people making it all 3 weeks. Note that it took us fewer attempts to down Firefighter 10 (Mimiron hard mode) when that was a server first, whereas we are late to the Lich King party from trying to run 2 equal 10s groups each week. That is to say we were way more overgeared for Lich King 10 compared to Mimiron... and Mimiron was a hard mode.

Pretty fitting ultimate fight for the expansion! Its duration is borderline excessive (RP included it took us 18 minutes or so for the winning attempt, killing him 1:15 short of the enrage timer) but it never feels long. There are too many adds to kill each transition phase, so you go into new phases "behind", which is pretty neat IMO. From the start of P2 on there is always something coming up in a few seconds to worry about, especially if you're a tank or healer, but it definitely is at the point then where one bad mistake with Defile or possibly a Val'kyr can wipe the raid.

I have a newfound respect for people killing him on Heroic difficulty!

And now to think, my 25s man team only has Sindragosa left of all the wing bosses (thank you 10% buff for turning a wipe into a win on Queen)... there's no way some of the people in my 25s are going to be able to handle Defile, or splitting up dps properly for Valks, etc :(

Congrats, I'm looking forward to my soht at Arthas soon.

Some friends and I did ToGC25 for the first time on Thursday night and it was quite fun. We ended up downing Beasts, one shotting Jaraxxus but hitting a road block on champs. They are soooo much harder on Heroic mode. Tried em for a good 90 mins and didn't have much success, next week though.

Also got recruited to try Algalon on 10m for the first time last night, and that is another fun fight too. Our best attempt was 60% which was only around the first big bang or so just due to everyone overgearing him. But of course overgearing can't help you when collapsed stars aren't timed well. Oh well, like I said was a lot of fun to actually get to try him, sucks about the 1hr lockout timer though.

I have always enjoyed the Algalon fight. I still look forward to it on the odd occasions I go there. I'm not really sure what it is about it, since on paper the fight shouldn't be particularly exciting (especially nowadays with ICC gear), but the fight is just fun! The graphical thing at the intro hasn't been matched yet, too. :p

Quick question. Anyone know of a mod to move the tooltip location? eg. the nameplate that pops up with name, guild, etc, when you mouseover someone.

I used to use ctmod for that but for some reason you cant change the anchor point anymore.

Tiptac is a good one.

It also allows you to change what information will show in the tooptip, and how it displays.

Well we finally downed Prof P on 25s last night. The 15% buff put us over the top. One shot him with ease, go figure...

May have done Queen too. We got her to 8% first try and I had to leave but they gave it one more attempt after I left I think.

The Hellscream's Warsong/Strength of Wrynn buffs help a ton of Professor. It's kind of an exponential gain during P1-P2 on him. Queen.. well they certainly don't hurt, but if you keep messing up bites you still won't win.

Though now that I think about it, there's also a line possibly crossed during air phases. Each bloodbolt thing will do ~10k. If you are a bit slow on spreading out and two people splash one apiece onto each other, that's 20k, and then if they spread out properly a moment later a third, proper bloodbolt would be another 10k. Depending on where your hp total is, being able to survive that can make the air phases a lot less important to execute well.

I know my guild, which has historically failed pretty hard on Queen, got her in 3 tries last night, one of which was a fluke wipe. Perhaps the 15% buff does have a bigger effect than first thought. :p

Tonight we find out how hard it is to alternate between moving right then left as we spend hours on Sindragosa! I am terrified.

We've been stuck on Sindragosa for a couple weeks now, for our raid comp it is turning out to be a really tough fight. Looking forward to trying her this Sunday for the first time with the 15% buff.

Welp. Got her on the 11th try last night. The 15% buff was indeed the difference, because that kill almost surely wouldn't have been a kill without it. 2/3 of the raid dead when Sindra dies is still a kill, though!

I misjudged P3, I think. So long as one player doesn't cube a ton of people, you can actually keep going for quite awhile with most of the raid dead. On our second to last attempt we had something like 7 people up and the raid was actually stable. I'm not sure how healers were managing Unchained Magic... I guess Guardian Spirit for the Priest and bubble for Paladin. The fight actually went on for awhile at that point until we lost too many to Frost Tomb after Frost Tomb, one at a time. It was kind of weird. It was also kind of sad: Wiped with 345k hp left and dropping surprisingly fast. Note that 345k is a hair under 1%...

So, yes, buff definitely helps out in Sindra. So long as players don't chain Frost Tomb onto a bunch of other players it can actually be a pretty ugly but straightforward phase. Not as technical as I thought... or at least, not as technical as I thought was necessary to win.

Still would be nice if we could just go right and left calmly like the P3 in this video... so pretty...
