Yeah, you are near the end, I think there's one more thing you have to do in denerim before then landsmeet, then after the landsmeet the final battle begins.

So I now have 1 week to finish this game. I'm getting ready to head into the Alienage to get yet more ammunition against Loghain. Somebody please tell me its going to end soon.
I'm getting really tired of this whole "I know I told you this was what you need to do, but now you need to do this before we can do what I originally told you" bullcrap.
I now, officially, hate dwarves too.
You aren't too far off. Gather as much ammo against Loghain as you can, and then make your move.

So glad I'm done with this game. I enjoyed the first part of the game. The second half was a total grind. The ending sucked and I blamed it on the fact that they had to account for all the different choices you might make. My thought is the best endings require the hero to die. Didn't seem to make a difference here at all.
I just picked this up, and have wasted far to many hours already. It's **** awesome. I can't stop.

Expansion comes out next week. I've got mine paid off already and I just finished my perfect playthrough to import over to the expansion yesterday. So I am good to go.

I just picked up my copy of Awakening and I'm installing it. Interesting find inside the box was an advertisement. I just shows the Dragon Age dragon logo dragon made of blood in a new position and it has a date 2/1/2011. Seems either the second major expansion or Dragon Age 2. It seems a little soon for a full blown sequel unless they are using the same engine, so I'm leaning more towards a second Expansion.
EDIT:
Oh damn, Oghren and Anders banters are freaking classic.

24 hours into it, I finished. Excellent overall with a few things that kinda bugged me. You hit the point of no return at a really stupid spot and I wasn't able to finish some sidequests because of the order I decided to do the storyline quests in. I enjoyed all of the new characters, even the one that I didn't think I would like. All of them are at least as good as the original crew(in some cases they are better than, say, Sten or Zevran). Aside from Oghren, I only saw two other characters that were even involved a little. The epilogue mentioned a few others.
The new talents are incredibly, especially the new archery line. They get a new stance that increases attack, damage, crit chance and crit damage based off your dexterity. They also get an arrow rain ability, and other things. The new line of rogue talents was also very good(though, two of the abilities weren't good at all for my archer). One they get will instantly kill a weakened enemy or it will deal a triple critical hit, the last in the line allows you to basically choose a location and you will appear behind every enemy in that area for a backstab. They also get a stance that increases all damage dealt(regardless of melee or ranged). Very nice.
The new specializations are interesting. I liked them all except for the Legionare Scout, which gives strength(WTF? For a rogue?) and constitution bonuses for the first rank, then it gets a stance to reduce damage. The last two buff the stance to reduce spell damage and finally it makes them immune to spells(both friendly and hostile). Not that great. The guardian warrior specialization makes you an uber tank with some helpful party saver abilities(one would increase the entire party's armor based on constitution) and the battle mage spec gives you some really nice combat options(it has an AOE frost spell that doesn't do friendly fire, which was very nice. though, I suppose if you play normal on the console version, you don't have to worry about friendly fire anyway, but I have the PC version and normal difficulty has friendly fire).
Slight end spoilers
Spoiler:
Ending was kinda abrupt as well. You kill the final boss, there is a cinematic of you finishing the boss off(which was pretty cool)...then the epilogue text boxes. No ceremony like the end of Origins or anything.
As for what I didn't like? Well, initially, I was bummed only one character was making a return as a joinable party member(though, I got over that pretty quickly because of how awesome the new characters are). I was also disappointed in how, overall, the choices I made in Origins had very little impact(aside from who I picked to make King/Queen). And aside from Alistair, Wynne and Oghren, no one is really even mentioned. The loot was GREAT...if you were a mage or a warrior. Every new armor set I found was either Heavy or Massive armor. Not a single Light Armor set geared towards rogues at all. There were some really incredible individual pieces, but then I walked around not matching. And where the **** was my dog?
One thing I have to say about importing this particular character...
Spoiler:
I hardened Alistair's personality during his personal quest in Origins, so he would be more willing to take the throne. But that's not exactly why I did it. You see, if you do that, you can spare Loghain and have him become a warden. You can do this with an extra nice Alistair as well, but he turns into a super baby and leaves the country and becomes a drunk. If you tell him that people are out for themselves during his personal quest, he is still super pissed off at you, but he becomes king with Anora as his queen, allowing Loghain to become a warden, sacrificing himself to slay the Archdemon.
This actually had an impact on the way Alistair reacted to me when you meet up with him at the beginning of Awakening. He expressed disbelief that all of the warden's at Vigil's keep were dead except for me and my character replied along the lines of "don't sound too disappointed about that" and Alistair replied, with a hint of anger and a frown that he was sure he would get over it. The conversation plays out differently if you were best buds with him at the end of Origins(and of course it is completely different with Anora in his place if you decided to let Alistair sacrifice himself or not be made king). Was kinda surprising, really...especially since he said he wasn't mad anymore at the end of Origins. But he did say that things could never go back to the way they were...but he seemed to have mostly forgiven me at any rate...but then he showed he was still pissed in Awakening.
Was certainly worth my $40.

Started playing Awakenings yesterday. Really enjoying it so far. I agree with Raltar, the new archery talents are amazing. The Accuracy talent is almost TOO good. And Rain of Arrows is frakkin' cool, even if it does cause friendly fire. Actually, most of the new skills/spells that have been added are very, very good. And the new specializations are pretty darn awesome, too. I really want to try out BattleMage. That's about the only new specialization I haven't fooled with, yet.
The story starts off really well, and it's only gotten better, so far. I hope that trend continues. It kinda reminds me of NWN2, and the Stronghold, where you have to upgrade your keep and find ore/mineral deposits, only a bit more involved than NWN2. And that's not a bad thing at all, because I really enjoyed that aspect of NWN2.
I've only had one thing really bothered me so far.
Spoiler:
The peasant revolt. It ended in bloodshed for me. I was very disappointed in that. I tried to use Persuade, but it didn't help at all. And I didn't have a save that was close enough to that point to try again. I would have had to replay a lot of stuff to do so. I wonder if anyone else was able to reach a peaceful solution to that.
Other than that minor hiccup, I'm really loving it.

You can, but it doesn't seem to be the right choice either. Sigh.

I finished it last week, and honestly, the revolt did not give me any sort of negative impact at the end. I was rather surprised. If you give them food, they keep revolting, apparently.
And that picture is all kinds of awesome! Shale and Allistair are my favorite characters.

New DLC that lets you play through the original campaign from the Darkspawn in an alternate timeline type deal where your Grey Warden PC dies during the Joining. Sounds kinda neat, really.

Completely different kinds of game. You can't really compare either except to say they are both character driven, choice matters kind of games. One notable difference is that you don't have a voiced PC(aside from things like, "I lost my spell!" during combat when getting interrupted, but conversation isn't voiced, much like KotOR). On a whole, I'd say the crew you assemble in Dragon Age is more interesting than the crew from Mass Effect(with the exception of Garus and Tali) in my opinion. Dragon Age is comically bloody as well, but that can be fixed with mods(assuming you get the PC version. Which you should if you have a PC that can run it).
If I had to pick which one I liked better, I would have a different answer every day.

Khross is freakin full of it. The game started to feel like a chore about half way through. There wasn't enough variety in the quests and I got very tired of solving everybody's problems. The game is challenging and requires you to constantly reevaluate your targets and placing. There were also a lot of stupid AI bugs I continually ran into. The supporting characters are top notch and on par with Mass Effect. The fact that the hero doesn't have voice acting, though, really takes away from what the game could have been.
If it weren't for the mods to this game, I probably never would have finished it.
