My Xbox died last night, displaying only an E74 error screen when I boot it. While not famous as the RROD, the E74 error is still enough of a problem that Microsoft is offering an extended warranty for this issue. Apparently this issue is related to the Xbox overheating and the soldering for the GPU coming loose.

I opened a ticket with Microsoft, and they're sending me a prepaid shipping label. Hopefully the turnaround for this ticket is quick.

I've heard only good things about the customer service. Then again, I don't own an Xbox.

UPS actually came by today and tried to pick up my Xbox, but I wasn't expecting them today so I didn't have it ready.

Yeah, got the same error a while back. Turnaround was pretty quick and they just gave me a new (refurbed, likely) 360.

The EXACT same thing happened to me with my RRoD Xbox. I filled out my repair ticket and UPS actually came by the very next day. Of course, I wasn't ready, so they just left the shipping label with me. I got mine back in about 8-10 days, I think. No problems so far.

Place me in the E-74 group. Yes, the turn-around was fast. Just don't expect your same box back (bye bye, 15 dollar aftermarket fan). And don't expect the outsourced Indian support (with exaggerated american accents that hide their Indian accents well.... TOO well... but not their grammar) to be a ton of help if you need it.
