Syfy is running a 4 hour version of the books on Sunday. There was a so-so pilot of a series that never got off the ground a while back, but this isn't associated with it. I loved the books, but I wasn't very impressed with the pilot. Hopefully this will be truer to my vision of the books...

Is anyone else looking forward to this?

I'm interested in seeing it. However, my wife works Sunday night, so I'll have the kids. Not sure how I'll be able to swing it, but knowing SyFy, I'm sure they'll run it about 10 times between now and next weekend. :P

The SciFi channel changed their name to SyFy a while back.

I didn't realize this was a remake. I assumed they were just dusting off that old show from years ago. I liked the concept (didn't realize it was based upon books), but that first incarnation wasn't that good. I'll have to check this one out. Its got to be better than Megapiranha.
