I don't put this up as a tease, in all seriousness I say do not read anything about this movie. Just as there are things you cannot unsee, you cannot unread what may be written about this movie. Last week I saw a trailer for it, and wondered what the deal was, so I read the plot summary on Wikipedia. Oh how I wish I hadn't. Now that it's been several days since I read it, I'm not bothered by it so much, but as soon as most people hear or what the specifics they will wish they hadn't.

The movie is called "The Human Centipede".

Then again, I've been a resident of the Internet for some 15 years now and I'm probably incapable of being shocked by anything anymore. I am equally unmovable in terms of being offended by most things, so if these things do not describe you it's probably best to err on the side of caution. You certainly don't gain anything, at least. :p

I suspect this falls under "too bizarre to be taken seriously at all" for me. *nodnod*

Meh. It isn't OMG worthy at all. It sounds like a horrible movie, but so is Avatar.

I've been looking at trailers for this movie on beyondhollywood.com for the past month now. Morbid curiosity has me wanting to see this. Freaky man, freaky.

The trailer isn't so bad, when you read the description and see the drawings they use in the movie it's much worse.

Oh, you meant in the film ...

It's a mad-scientist thing, where the scientist is (of course) German. Reminds me vaguely of Hostel, which I stumbled upon late one night in a hotel, and which haunted me for days afterward (and not in an enjoyable way).

The filmmaker says that he made the scientist German because of WWII: "The inclusion of a German villain was a conscious decision, based upon the German invasion of the Netherlands during World War Two and the subsequent Nazi medical experiments. World War Two also played an influence on the nationality of the other main characters (American and Japanese)." (from the Wikipedia article on this film)

OK, the German scientist I get, but why have a Japanese person as a victim? They were on the same side as the Germans. Sheesh.

No, its fairly linear in its progression. Somewhat like the internet is a series of tubes... thus is this movie about the same.
